I sort of kind of hate you right now, Dice. Don't take it personally.

And yeah, that PS2 title screen is just so awkward looking. I plan on playing the first hour or so of the PS2 version on Monday so the differences will be immediately apparent.

I really want to play this, but I bet it's going to be ages before I find it over here. :(
I avoid online multiplayer because my brain still works.

Just hope skipping cutscenes no longer lower your % completion in X-2, I've never been good at sitting through cutscenes I've already seen before.

Honestly, don't.

With the pace I play things these days, you'll be 100% done FFX-2 before I get through Act 1 of the game. :(

Something tells me they didn't care.  At the very least, I'd be more surprised if they did add in that feature.

^ I was only jesting anyway~

Initial Impressions:

Deciding to play the first hour or so of the original last night was one of my rare good ideas. The differences immediately blew me away. This is hands down the most gorgeous HD remaster I've seen yet. I'm absolutely in love with the new AI, and the music is all pretty good (except when they overdo the instrumentation, like with the victory theme). The expert sphere grid combined with how long ago I last played the game kind of makes this a little bit of a new experience for me. When browsing the grid, I had to wonder if some of the abilities were new to the International Edition or if I just don't remember them because they were hardly put to use.

There are a few minor issues I have with the game. First, saving defaults to a new save file. I didn't like this about the original Final Fantasy XIII either. If I'm tired and looking for a save point, I'll just button mash my way through and end up with way more save files than I want or need. Secondly, Tidus' new douse of Mako is a bit distracting, especially in close-up cutscenes. And last, the volume difference between in-game cutscenes and rendered ones is much bigger.

When starting the game, I recommend just taking a moment to appreciate the amazing backgrounds in Zanarkand. Holy wow is this game beautiful.

Anyone else get a good laugh at Tidus at the beginning when he's trying to bat away alien monsters with his bare hand like they're tiny insects?  Then he falls down.

I like that instead of adhering to the "JRPG opens with main character waking up" trope, they decided to go with "JRPG opens with main character waking up 6 times in a row"

EDIT: Just turned around to see the XMB Splash Screen for this game, and it's kind of awesome.

EDIT 2: Post 1111 hehe

So when does the X-2 vita code work? I just tried mine and it still isn't working and I know I'm putting it in correctly.

Honestly should have saw the ending coming after that hallucinogenic opening.
I actually kinda like the air of mystery that lingers around the whole event. Other parts of the plot are pretty odd or dubiously made -- but I liked that one.

Ah well, who knows, maybe Christopher Nolan borrowed this and put it in Inception.

Hm... I can buy this game for my Vita and renew my Ps Plus... Or i can eat for the rest of the month...

I've already beaten the PS2 version of X for PS2, but i've never beaten X-2 (not sure if it's worth it though). Meh, what the heck, there are only 12 days of this month left.

Buy diet pills, you'll only need one small meal a day!

Well, as my friend said "If you're not already on a diet made exclusively of instant noodles, go ahead and buy the game".

Will probably buy it tomorrow.

That's the spirit!!

I put on FFX-2.... just to listen to that opening credit music and video.  For an otherwise tacky game, the opening and visuals are extremely tasteful.
