Assuming this is the same mechanic I'm aware of (press a button, game fast forwards at 2-3x speed), it's not a sufficient anti-AO measure.

-It relies on you knowing 'when' the material begins in order to trigger it and dodge any exposure.
-It relies on you knowing 'when' the material ends in order to not miss any non-AO relevant material.
-It does nothing to stop images from popping up on screen during the interim.

Basically it needs to be a full block otherwise it causes more problems than it solves.

I'm an Agarest War fan, but I play it for the story and lore, not the Ecchi.

Not sure if this is particularly interesting to me as-is.

As for having to age-restrict your site, I'm not sure why that would be necessary just to review an adult title.  You don't have to post adult content in the review.  You just review the title.  Assuming the reviewer is 18 or over, I don't see the problem.

Because you don't open up a film magazine and see it running reviews of porno flicks-- adult-rated content is typically separated from "mainstream" content. It's just not something we cover, unfortunately. Thanks for bringing it to fans' attention in the forums, but as Dincrest said, it's simply our policy that we don't review games with pornographic content, whether they're good or bad.
Friends, waffles, work. Or waffles, friends, work. Doesn't matter, but work is third.

Re: JAST USA and the game itself.  The one thing that I've repeatedly complained about the most regarding Aselia: The Eternal was that there was no playable demo available.  That's a terrible oversight to me in this day and age.  Aselia piqued my interest, but the lack of a "try before you buy" option was a dealbreaker for me.  A PC game without an available demo, especially when nowadays console game release playable demos?  Unacceptable.  Okay, someone could argue that I could just watch YouTube videos of gameplay, but that's not the same as a hands-on experience.

Hopefully Yumina will learn from that mistake and have a playable demo available.

Games I've given Editor's Choice to:
Ever 17, Hourglass of Summer, Anachronox, Persona PSP, Radiant Historia, To The Moon, Revolution 60

I absolutely agree.  I actually wrote a blog post expressing my disappointment with JAST's marketing of this title to date, and calling for those who care about this title to go knock on JAST's door.  If the merely curious want to join in, that would only help get the message across.

I'll be picking this up. I'm a big fan of visual novels, especially if they have gameplay, like Aselia. I'm liking the art for this title as well.

EDIT: Just took out some parts that could come across as judgemental.

Also I felt this statement from Annubis bears repeating:

And finally, boners are awesome.

That... doesn't really look fun =/
There better be an option to make turns lightning fast.

Severely disagree. That combat system actually looks quite fun. :-\ Shame it's not on any non-AO titles.

Stat number wise that system actually looks rather intermediate. Although I've dipped into the Total War series so...I doubt any RPG will ever have as many numbers you need to know thrown across a system to match, ever. Or if nothing else; still looks less complicated than 3.0 Grappling Rules. XD

Aselia the Eternal had an animation skip option.  I imagine this game will have a similar option.  I should probably dive into the Japanese demo and see for myself.

I found a description of the battle system here: http://tenka.seiha.org/2008/10/now-eating-yumina-the-ethereal-combat-trial/

Note that this was a pre-release demo from over 4 years ago, so the mechanics may have changed since then.  As the demo was a simple battle system demonstration, the story segments were stripped out. The overall impression of the combat mechanics seems to be "Seinarukana with added layers of strategy", with Seinarukana itself being an evolution of Aselia the Eternal's relatively simple combat system.

Gotta say, I really don't like the chibi art. Aselia's art was great, and it matched the tone of the game perfectly. Is this game supposed to be more humorous or parody-like? Because that's what the art is telling me.

The game is a moe romantic comedy, which transitions into a more serious sci-fi style story later in the game.  This should be a familiar pattern to those who play JRPGs and watch anime.

OK, the elemental field things sounds like a pretty cool mechanic now that I actually know what's going on.  I thought the fumbles were just random...
