Well.. technically your penguin GIF violates the RPGFan forum rules for signature images since it is 532px wide and the maximum allowed is 450px wide. So we should probably ask everyone to remove the GIF from their signature.

However, I happen to know a thing or two about making/editing GIFs, so I happen to have this 450px wide penguin GIF right here....

Given it's just a walking animation that can definitely be made shorter without really undermining the gif, but I especially don't want them being too tall. And don't make them several MB, dial-up's probably not really a concern anymore BUT mobile internet absolutely is.

The 450px GIF also drops the file size from 172.13KB to 89.48KB. Win-win :D

Shame my sig's gone, that mega facepalm would have fit here swimmingly when you called me out directly, goosey. But okay, I understand, no more big photos in a sig.

So... who remembers the old RPGBoard days with the stupidly hugs sigs, the "sig test" posts, and all of that?  I remember the one dude with his crazy Macross sig with big images, glittery logos, and music.  I used to check the "don't see sigs" option so I wouldn't have to look at it and wait for it to load.
Games I've given Editor's Choice to:
Ever 17, Hourglass of Summer, Anachronox, Persona PSP, Radiant Historia, To The Moon, Revolution 60

That sig was EPIC...... is what I would say if I remember those days.

But I don't remember those days at all.

At all.

The hilarious thing about Keith's signature is that data-wise it was probably way, way smaller than some of the signature that people have used recently like Agent D's. Heck, shrink the dimensions of Mike's old one and it'd fit with today's limits even at the file size.

This reminds me of my Forum days back in 2004-6 on another site when signatures were around this size. I remembered there being one on an rpg forum that had some much animated gifs going at once that It wouldn't even load half of them when I was using an  old IBM computer running on windows 95s Plus--which is still in working condition in the basement!

Pffffft, not if you're on LTE.

Mike's signatures were fabulous in our RPGBoard days. That one especially.

That reminds me, for as long as you've been around, and as well maintained as you are, how come this forum doesn't offer a mobile version? Fairly surprised at this actually.

What's funny is that there's a WAP version.  Connect with a blackberry or some other older mobile and you get a text-only forum. It's mainly because it isn't built in.  We are seeing higher mobile traffic, so it's definitely something to consider, but not anywhere close to the top of our programming list.
