Guess this leaves me with BOF4 and BOF5 as the only new BOF's to play.
Well, you could do worse. BOF4 is a beautiful looking game that has an interesting premise and BOF5 is the only BOF to have beyond average gameplay.

I'm sure you already know all that, but I need to take my mind off what Capcom's latest mishap.

Okay, Capcom, we know you hate BoF.

Just stop screwing yourself among the other good news you release. YOU DON'T BALANCE THE HATEDOM AND PARADISE.

Oh hey, its Megaman XOver all over again.

I reckon it was either this or Breath of Fire 6 for 3DS.

See? THIS is why people are so heavily disappointed, while there'd be backlash on 3DS it'd probably be relatively tame and in the end it's more BoF in a recognizable form. Being what seems to be casual MMO-type mobile RPG is the megaton of disappointments for anyone waiting on new installments to a long dormant series. Damn, even the sprites look like Ragnarok Online rejects.

I thought they swiped them from Maple Story's cutting room floor myself.

Probably rounded up a bunch of Korean MMOs and liberally stole from all of them.

But yeah, a 3DS backlash would've been more akin to when games like DQIX and SMTIV got announced for it, people who snub handhelds or want the highest fidelity would be disappointed, but they could probably still put a traditional experience out and many would be happy. Heck, the same could've happened here WITH PC as a fallback in which case it would be closer to DQIX or SMTIV here, but instead it sounds like it's some MMO-ish thing, and combining that with being mobile, the series being dormant for a decade, and being a NUMBERED installment is just one of the biggest dick moves one can possibly make. Seriously, what the fuck's the point, may as well either make a new IP or at least relegate to a spin-off.

I don't what you guys were expecting from a series that was pretty much over before this...

I was expecting a handheld game. I would've been fine that.

This? This is cutting open a wound, pouring a bag of salt in, shoving two slices of lemon and sewing the wound back up.

Fuck those assclowns.

I can almost taste the salt in this thread.

I was expecting a handheld game. I would've been fine that.

You think? With the amount of complaints there is about... anything I would be surprised seeing a reaction online that wasn't negative.

But still, damage is already done and everyone is going to have to deal with it. I did with DmC, and that whole deal was fairly ugly too.
