Well, it seems that the next Persona game is scheduled to come out this July after a rather lengthy hiautus.
Story and first scans here.
Yeah, it's in French but there's a handy Babelfish translation button thingy.
I'm pretty excited even though I don't even consider myself a big MegaTen fan. Looks damn nice from the pictures.

While it looks decent enough, it doesn't look quite as good as the recent MegaTen games... And the kids look like they're 12. :P

That was pretty much my first reaction too, when I saw the in-game screenshost. Looks like the game has got some kind of chibi art style going on, which feels a bit out of place. But I've never played any of the Persona games, so maybe that's just par for the course?

I dunno, I've taken a liking to it. IMHO it fits the whole high school setting.

It doesn't look THAT chibi. Hey, at least they aren't disproportionately lanky without any shoulder mass like Yuki in Grandia III. Looks good to me. :D

Okay, if this doesn't get brought to the US I shall storm Atlus' office and...be unpleasant at them.

I would think that Atlus would bring this game over. I would be shocked if they didn't. Anyways, I don't really care what the art style is; I'm just glad that there is another Persona and it's on the PS2. Persona 2: EP was one of my favorite games on the PS1 even though I didn't finish it. I even had over 100hrs play time on it too.

You know the kid with the blue hair in the pictures looked kind of familiar to me. I then realized he looks like the love child between Spero and Grey from Stella Deus.

I knew that art style was familiar, but I attributed it to maybe being whoever did the in-game art for the characters in Persona 2. But when you said that, I did a google and sure enough, that same guy did the character designs for Stella Deus.

Oh, I forgot to mention this last post, but he did the art direction for Persona 2/Soul Hackers as well. In fact, the character designs reminded me of the ingame art for that (Soul Hackers) too, at least of what little I saw.

If the kids are young, it's fine. The Persona games managed to be mature even with young protagonists. And you need a new generation of youths, because the Persona games usually feature appearances by the cast members of previous installments and they're getting on in years. So the look of the younger kids perhaps indicates that the game doesn't take place a long ass time after the events of EP.
It ain't DemiKids. That's good.
