Full remake. Cross saves between versions. Character models have undergone huge upgrades. Much closer to the original art work.

Unexpected, but given the "quality" of the first game, appreciated.  Maybe now the characters won't look like 5 year olds!

This one's been rumored for a while.  Supposedly they're remaking it in Totori/Meruru style.  Which, of course, means they're likely not going to be using the old, stricter Atelier formula anymore in future games.  That may alienate a part of the Japanese fanbase.

That said, I'm okay with this.  Rorona is my favorite of the three Arland heroines and the game has my favorite party member set. I'm looking forward to seeing the new models.

Cross Saves between versions is really nice,no complaints here, but I'm not sure I'd use them.  NG+ bored me in the Arland series, because most of the time management is gone.

Interesting.  Always thought it was a bit odd when they completely skipped over Rorona when doing the Plus versions.  Guess they figured it needed more work than a simple touch-up.

But still, neither the long-range exploration of Totori nor the city building that made Meruru so addictive really make any sense in Rorona's story.  So they're going to have to do something else if they want the gameplay to hold up to those two...

Pretty unrelated, but has anyone else been watching Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya and been unable to stop picturing Rorona as Illya?  Same voice actress doing the same style voice...

Very nice!!

Bah... just reminds me we've heard nothing on Escha and Logy coming to the West.

Don't worry, it will probably just show up in stores one day without any announcement ;)

Temco Koei being in charge of Atelier localizations has made me incredibly worried for the future of the series in the west.  That said, until more recently when NISA became more efficient/hired more employees, Atelier games were usually a year behind.  Give it a few months for an announcement.

I was just thinking, this really makes sense: people that played the original version may want to play this one but a lot of companies would strictly release a port/remake even if the people that played the first time don't have that system.

I mostly pop in occasionally to give my two cents on certain controversial things, so if you disagree then send a PM, because I generally don't check for replies in threads in case I feel like replying and then things get heated/derailed.
