Japanese music help
« on: August 14, 2013, 01:33:38 PM »
Anyone know of a good album or source of that kind of music they play in Samurai movies or whatever? That kind of very percussive, traditional sounding, music? Very fast paced stuff? They play something like it in that new Wolverine movie during the fight at the funeral.

I want to use that as workout music

I haven't seen the movie; are you talking about taiko drums?

Maybe the "Taiko Drum Master" arcade game OST?

If you're looking for something with percussion, I can only offer this:

Chrono Cross - The Brink of Death ~ Boss Battle (EXTENDED)
Chrono Cross - Dragon God Extended (The middle section where the bass drum enters in-> just loops that ;))
Chrono Cross - Predicament (it picks up after the intro)
FATES ~God of Destiny~ (A little slower in drive, but bass-ier percussion might be up your alley)

Sonic The Hedgehog (2006) Music: DUSTY DESERT ~ QUICKSAND

NieR ~ Blu-bird
NieR-Gods Bound By Rules-extended (Click here to where it picks up)
NieR Soundtrack - The Lost Forest
NieR-Song of the Ancients Fate extended (Again, for the percussion I recommend it)
Shadowlord's Castle (Roar)
Emil (Karma)

That's all I got for now. Here's a a couple of other stuff to listen to that could work out for you. ;)

Battle Without Honor or Humanity
Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood
The World Ends With You - Three Minutes Clapping (Full)
The World Ends With You - Twister Gang Mix
Space Channel 5 - Mororian's Base: Escape (That Brass...beautiful)
????
????

And the WILD cards: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BQ_BJNFGmTg & http://youtu.be/ZtRPB8xHP8M?t=15m42s

Happy adrenaline pumping!

And here's some lounge music to chill to when you're done working out: Song of the Ancients (Hollow Dreams)

Chrono Cross - Predicament (it picks up after the intro)

....ZUN!!

Also, Blu-Bird from NieR is damn angry and awesome sounding.  Really nailed the nasal voice, the male chorus and the drums.

Not Asian-y, but done by AN Asian.
Sakuraba's Golden Sun Battle Medley has an awesome drummer hammering away practically the whole track

Not really pumping, but very zenSkywarn Sword's Ancient Cistern is very therapeutic...for, um, after the workout and the sauna?
