Not to sure where the heck to put this, so why not just stick it with the other remake?

FFVI IOS Screeens

It's an improvement....yet I still want to throw up a bit.

It's really plastic looking. =/

Code:
Fuck.  I'd actually rather them copy/paste the assets to make a FFIV-esque remake.

Worth its own thread! Even though it's clearly not worth putting a high budget behind for SE.

Doesn't look as bad as I feared, honestly.

But is it worth two threads?

But yeah, seconding the whole "Doesn't look as bad as I feared." I guess it helps that FFVI started with sprites twice as tall as previous FF sprites were (unlike FFV which led to that lazy/hideous stretch that they pulled).

I guess for posterity reasons it's supposed look like the SNES game.... but I don't like it.

FFVI looked *amazing* for the SNES, but this is bad as far as what the iOS is capable of handling.

One of the complaints I heard for FFIV: TCC was that it looked too much like an RPGMaker game. I kinda see where they're coming from as far as the field sprites go, but I thought the battle sprites for that looked gorgeous and the spell effects were especially impressive.

This whole look they've gone with for the iOS meshes better with the backgrounds but it feels like they just ran the sprites through one of those smoothing tools in photoshop and cleaned it up a bit.

I agree it looks way better than that crappy job on FF5, gonna wait to see how it looks in motion I suppose. I feel like I should buy it just to support it but I hate playing games on the iOS, just makes my damn fingers hurt.

That actually looks... really cool...

Ok tech savy folk. Tell me how the heck I get this game to play on the big screen. Would Ouya work?

Despite being Android-based I don't think Ouya even supports the normal Google Play store so probably not.  But there are tons of Android devices with TV-out.  And you can get a PS3 controller working with Android, though I think you need to root it first.

I don't like the way it looks, though it could be worse. It's like they sucked the atmosphere right out of the game.

Well if you are playing it on an iOS device, you can stream it to your AppleTV via airplay mirroring and there ya go.
It might be a bit choppy on the current generation of AppleTV, so I'd wait for the next generation to come out.

I actually think it looks better. The soldiers in particular look more detailed, the originals looked like they had eyes on their helmets.

I'd say it looks better except for Terra.

I'm trying to picture the animations of sugar-cookie Terra running around environments like pictured Gehstal, and I just get the worst vibe.

Despite not looking as hideous as the FFV port, I still would've preferred a full on DS style remake like FFs III and IV received.

As it is though, I might as well just stick to the classic SuperNES version.
