SH:C is pretty off the rails. I heard Koudelka and the original SH were serious horror games. SH:C meanwhile is the Saints Row 3 of JRPGs.

I think my biggest problem with the game is that the font was /deeply/ unreadable on my old TV. Also the dungeons.

Espgaluda 2 - Discovered that the Level 3 midboss has some destroyable turrets that SHOULD make the second and third bullet patterns it does easier to deal with, since both sets of turrets fire aimed shot and if I can, at least, take out one turret from each set that makes things a lot easier to dodge since I have fewer criss-crossing things to stuff.

Lotad - I'm at the part where some chick is telling Estelle to give her brother the D. Quick view of the FAQ indicates that:

Code:
- I fucked up by not going to the tower in Ruan before the school play thing apparently.
- I fucked up by not buying the Lighthouse guy anchovies, because the in-game dialogue was calling them salted anchovies when you actually want to get spicy anchovies, which I still don't recall being sold anywhere.
- I'm probably going to fuck up doing all of the school quests at Genius Academy or already have fucked this up. afaik I've been talking to everyone there constantly but I've only triggered like three so far and I'm about to go to a pre-play feastdinner with Jeshua and Otherguy, so'p.
- Already fucked up getting max BP

I reached the final boss in Minish Cap, and it's just as much of a difficulty spike as I remembered, seeing as the rest of the game was fairly straightforward. The final form is really irritating - you have to line your clones up to the exact pixel, otherwise deflecting the attack from it will end up missing. Also, what's the point of giving you a save and continue option if all the items you used up in the fight are gone? Thankfully, I'd saved beforehand, so I don't have to spend an age grinding the 600 rupees I'd need to fill all my bottles with red potions.

Finished up my New Game Plus on The Last of Us Remastered last night. Got every collectible, but the game glitched and didn't register one of my optional conversations so I finished the game with 36/37 which really pisses me off because I have no idea which conversation I missed and it will be impossible to figure out without playing through the game a third time. I was also only 30 upgrade parts away from maxing out every weapon and the only one that isn't is the El Diablo which is towards the end of the game... ugh. So frustrating. I really love this game though. First game I've replayed right after beating it in years. I'll try to figure out which conversation I missed and move on to Left Behind next.

I feel like I've done nothing in a while, mostly because I've been focusing exclusively on my backlog stuff, including manga, LN and animu stuff. Anyway, I finally cleared True Dynasty Warriors Gundam in DWG: Reborn, which had a total bs artificial difficulty spike. I had to cheese it with a max level Heero in a GM, which is sort of anticlimatic. Oh well, whatever. I have a chance to platinum the game, but I don't know anymore. It's not worth it just grinding kills, though I feel bad for not trying out some good suits like the Kshatriya. Also the upgrade system in this game.... I still don't understand it and I have 90+ hours in it. Whoever made it up deserves a colony dropped on him. It is actually worse than in DWG 3. Time to get back to playing Rorona plus.

O.o I remember the upgrade system to be fairly simple. The first plan you select gets stat boosts to any stats it shares with the second suit you select, if the second suit has been upgraded before then the first suit gets extra bonuses to every stat for every upgrade to the second suit. The component upgrades change properties of attacks such as making the beams longer, wider, etc. You can check which attacks each component effects in game on the plans screen. You can transfer components to plans when upgrading the plans. I believe the most efficient way to do that is to have a base plan with stats you like, transfer three upgrades at level one to it, transfer any additional upgrades to it at level one, then merge two plans with all their components at level two to get a plan with level three components, and then merge that with the plan with stats you like.

Finally beat the goddamn belfry gargoyles in DS2

I don't know what's up w/ my controller but when I'd try and run my asshole character would just do a comfy trot while some gargoyles impale my asshole on a lance and then toast it with fire.

My fire resistance is tight but my asshole is not after all them lances.

Been playing Hearthstone and Ascension on the iPad for a while now. Both are really good. I think I like Ascension quite a bit more, but Hearthstone has been quite absorbing, too. In fact, it's the only game that made me actually play only with other people, if only because people are basically smarter bots as far as this game is concerned. Unless I get a jerk who spams the emotes or the rare ragequitter, I barely notice that I'm actually playing against a person.

In UT2K4 I usually noticed when I was playing with real people because they... tended to be inexplicably worse than the bots :T

Lotad - And then Miami Vice happened.

Espgaluda 2 - Got a better handle on the order I wanna take out the level 3 midboss's turrets. I THIIIINK I can handle it without dying now -- notably, if I move left, instead of right, during the first pattern and do it slowly enough I can shimmy up along the left side and avoid the really tricky parts completely. Also the two really annoying enemies towards the end of the level die and bullet cancel pretttty quickly after they launch their second bullet pattern. So, manageable.

--- edit ---

Lotad - Up to St. Technologyburg. Also I guess I did all the campus quests and can't read steam cheevo lists.

Mario & Luigi: Dream Team - I just had Dreamy Luigi summon a tornado of other Luigis to turn into a giant Luigi, then defeat a giant drill robot by slam dunking normal-sized Mario riding a Starman into the giant robot's heart.  Dreamy Luigi is the same as regular Luigi, except much handsomer and a product of the real Luigi's imagination.  Video games, man.

Persona 2: Innocent Sin - I think I just turned a normal building into a demon casino with my mind.

Started playing the online multi-player for The Last of Us Remastered just to try it. Wasn't expecting much because I didn't really like the multi-player in the Uncharted games, but this is amazing! All three modes are tons of fun. I ended up playing it for like 4 hours straight and didn't realize it was like 1 in the morning lol. I have almost every trophy for the mult-player already except for finishing the Hunter or Firefly Journey's. Color me surprised.

Its hilarious how that boss is the only real reason to bother trying to gather all of the Heart Containers and bonus upgrades in that game since they come way too late otherwise.

Ginga Force - Tried score attack, wasn't immediately taken with it, started story mode, became VERY taken with it. Only downside is the translation I found is missing some of the dialogue, although... it's good enough for figuring out what's going on. It's not really a super story-heavy game anyway.

I do wish Play Asia would update to say that the Wonder Price version is region free as well :T

Anyway, Qute's resolved whatever misgiving's I had about getting a 360 (except for maybe that super grody dashboard wtffffffff). I'm also surprised how much hiragana I still remember.

Lotad - Just got to Zeiss. I was... going to do some guild quests but I got distracted and I guess I'm gonna clear out Carnelia tower before I do anything else.

By the way, is it normal to hit a point where some of the enemies just start getting two moves for every one of mine? It... feels sort of random and based on the initial turn order.

Also wrt more RNG weirdness, Soul Spear seems to instakill about 50% of the time at least, and I've not managed to get any of the other 20% chance special effects to trigger more than, uh... I got Hell Gate to faint a monster /once/.

Also I was going to get on at like 2AM last night and say that Lotad was giving me weird dreams, because you have a character you control and other characters following them. I have no idea why this is giving me weird dreams.

--- edit ---

Survival-wise, had a really good run in Eschatos. Got to level 15 before dying (after wasting a bunch of continues right before that hrrr). CANNOT keep a multiplier going in the second set of areas at all, though.

Still this game is not stressful. This game is, like, happy. Crimzon Clover is like OH GOD CAN'T DO THIS. Eschatos is like hugs and sunshine.

I'm waiting for a Zelda game that really makes use of all the fuckton of Ruppees you get.  The economy in these games otherwise is completely bizarre (and the fact Hyrule's deficit is hiding in jars and pots in all sorts of places).  Wind Waker was the most messed up since your Grandma creates a super elixer soup for the price of 'on the house'.

And shucks.  I stopped playing Minish Cap right before the boss. :(
I hated that 'create multiples' thing.  Pain in the ass.  That sky dungeon boss is easily the weird Zelda fight ever.

Happens a lot.
Really fun when it's 6 vs 2 and you get pummelled 12 time before you can do anything.
