Trails of Cold Steel
I wonder if my wife will be opposed to me marrying this game?
I've explored the schoolhouse down to the 5th level and fought the Freeze You Constantly Dragon. Gave me my first party wipe. Went back in and changed nothing but my strategy and won with only the loss of Gaius. Poor Gaius, I was really enjoying having him as my #1. With his 4 ARCUS lines he was incredibly effective at putting all kinds of fun status effects on enemies. But to the bench he goes, leaving Alisa as my new #1. I've changed Gaius' master quartz from Falco to Raven to give him more speed and really focus on getting those debuffs out quickly. However, that will definitely impact his Evasion. I honestly haven't been using Insight the way I probably should. Heck, even the Freeze You Constantly Dragon was wasting turn after turn going after Gaius on my second attempt, and I wasn't even thinking about the EVA boost Insight gives as being the reason Gaius was dodging so well. I'm bad at this game.
My current Alisa build is ATS/HP based. I'm wondering if I should try to make her more of a healer, though? She's still using her Angel MQ, which is why I am focusing on her HP. But for healing she only has Teara and Thelas, for now. Wondering if I should try giving her Holy Breath or something to go with it. She has plenty of great offensive Arts, though. With her Red/Red/Gold quartz requirements it makes diversifying her a bit difficult. Any advice?
Alisa is less of a healer and more of a revival specialist. If I remember correctly she also has the best CP restorer ability. Her offensive arts are good from what I remember but took a crazy long time to get off.
I used Gaius early a lot in CS1 but not too much after that. I gave fie his MQ and turned her into a speed/evasion tank. I suppose if you wanted to you could give him rean's or laura's MQ and turn him into a slightly faster Laura (damage would be lessened as a trade off for a better ability to take a hit and speed/evasion).
Fie is great out in the field, arguably the best character against multiple opponents in random battles. She can occasionally make a tough boss easy if you could seperate her from the party and draw the monster's attn. If she does get hit tho she's pretty much toast, her damage is kind of weak-avg and her debuffs/status effects rarely work on tough bosses.
New girl you mentioned in spoilers is a decent defensive player but OMG slow.
some peoples who are a better CS player than I can supposedly make Emma the strongest player in the game. However for me she'd always get hit with a status effect, take 1-2 hits and die. Her special and some spells are crazy powerful tho. I think there is a build where you can concentrate on say 1 (maybe 2) color spells (black?), use orbs to decrease the casting time and give her anti-status effect equip/orbs.
