So what did you guys think?  I am a fan of Da Ali G Show and I always saw Borat as the funniest portion of the show.  This film was unarguably funny, but IMHO it wasn't that great.  Too much of it wasn't improvised comedy for example:
Code:

scenes of his village, and arguments with his producer

Also the Jackass style comedy kinda got to me after a while
Code:

borat and his producer fighting naked in a realtors conference over a baywatch mag.

Also some of it was just plain uncool
Code:

destroying the antique shop, and exploiting those poor villagers.

Sadly less than 30-40 minutes of it was the classic Borat material I loved.  Hell the deleted scenes posted in youtube is the stuff I enjoyed more.

What did the rest of you think?[/code]

I really enjoyed it, funniest thing I've seen in a while. I thought I would enjoy the non-improv stuff, but I found most of it to be really funny.

Code:
I thought the whole naked wrestling was pretty funny, especially running into the conference room.

And the bit in the jewish household was hilarious, when they're offering money to the cockroaches thinking the jews have changed their shape

It wasn't as good as the TV bits in the Ali G show, which were some of the funniest things I've ever seen, but it was damn good.

This movie was laugh-out-loud funny.  Borat is such a relatively simple character, both in mind and concept.  But its amazing what he gets people to say ...
Code:
At the rodeo, he gets the cowbow to talk about jailing homosexuals and the not.  Or even all the rather anti-Jewish referances, seeing as how Sacha Baron Cohen is jewish himself. =P

Anyways, it is easily the funniest movie I've seen in a while and anticipate the DVD for (likely) having a pissload of extras.
Code:
Favorite moments include:
the naked wrestling bit (his buddy pulls a Peter Griffin by being so large that his lard covers his penis), the security bear, the NOT bit at the end, and the strange village he comes from

It was mediocre. Some of it was really funny, and other parts were just terrible.

Agreed. Some of it was awesome, but parts of it were horrible and disgusting.

Code:
The naked wrestling, for instance. Yeah, I kind of DON'T want to see two gross-looking men in various sexual positions. I'm surprised so many people found that funny as that's the one thing I hated.

I think the best parts were

Code:
The stay at that jewish family's house and the bear scaring the children.

Oh, and don't see this with your mom. I learned my lesson.

My mum loved the original Borat shows. I wish I could have seen the movie with her!

And dude,
Code:
I like nothing more than seeing two gross-looking men in various sexual positions.

It was great!
