Zelda for the Wii U

We have goats!

So this is totally my most anticipated for next year right now (yeah, I'm a Zelda-tard, but cut me slack, it was basically the first game I ever played when I became a conscious kid since my brother was the one buying it before I was even born).

The more open world looks perfect and I hope it looks as good as it does in theory as it works in practice.

But I think what I love a lot is the bright colours here compared to a few other open world titles (certainly a lot of the early PS360 stuff liked greys and browns a bit too much; I'm glad that style has shifted).

Apparently everything was rendered in game engine.

Zelda is fun and I know they'll pull this off.

I might edit the image a little and do the same.  I love it, a damn great first impression if there ever was one.

Looks gorgeous.  Will totally get a Wii U once it has some games in 2015.

Might make me buy a Wii U when it comes out, or at least borrow one from someone haha.

So long as it doesn't pull a Skyward Sword and promises far more than it can deliver, I'll grab it up.

Zelda Edit: And a rather interesting point that seems to be worth pointing out. Another point being the Tek Arrows.

Jesus H Fuck, you'd think 25 years in and like 16 reincarnations we'd recognize "The HERO".
BUT DAMN I MISSED THE FACT HIS POPULAR GREEN TUNIC WAS MISSING.

The Super-Light Arrows seems to get very little buzz around it (at the very least, 90% of the comments I've read are in the lines of "Holy shiiiiit" and "SO PREETTTYY", and following that this "Link" looks like a girl, so...).

At last, all of those silly people who used to say "what if zelda was a girl" might be justified!

CLASSIC DAY 1 MISTAKE!!!
And honestly, when Game Trailers did the "10 things we'd like to see From Zelda U" was customizable character (highlighting male/female choice) people were just downright not having it:

I could see it being Zelda, given the fancy [light] bow she's become known for these days...

I'm starting to wonder if games are wearing out the open world thing.

I mostly pop in occasionally to give my two cents on certain controversial things, so if you disagree then send a PM, because I generally don't check for replies in threads in case I feel like replying and then things get heated/derailed.

Some developers do seem to be treating it as a master key to success, yes, but the ones that actually do it right are a minority. Making a game that offers seemingly endless freedom in an engaging way is very difficult. More often than not they just end up with a bunch of missions that are handed to the player one at a time or in small batches. The open world ends up being not much more than a rather boring sanbox the player can play around in between following the bread crumb trails.

Nintendo seems to have a decent idea of what they want an open Zelda world to be like, so I'm curious what they'll make this time.

As long as they don't go back to that fookin' rental system, I'll be happy.

I didn't have a problem with the rental system, and actually I kinda want to see it return. What they needed to do was make it so that some optional things actually required more than just your one dungeon designated tool.

So long as it doesn't pull a Skyward Sword and promises far more than it can deliver, I'll grab it up.

Link has started with different outfits before putin' on the green in the past, so I wouldn't consider that to mean anything, but what stuck out to me was how our intrepid hero's face and head was covered until the dramatic reveal at the end of the trailer.

Of course, the last time Nintendo hinted at what was going on (for reference: the hint was a mention of a desire to revisit ALttP), we got ALBW out of it. So I'm willing to bet on this hero being Fem Link after all (or Link's Sister at least). Of course since Link's name had the second meaning of linking the player to the character, I wonder what Fem Link's name will end up being (I'd guess Roll myself since it sounds so much like Role).
In my vision, I see that one of us is going to KO the other.
