Ys I & II Eternal (PC): Khonsclard pwns my ass.

I'm stuck in Ys I in Darm Tower. Khonsclard keeps kicking my ass. He's the giant rock that spins and shoots out rocks (seriously, that's all he does), I believe he's the second boss.

The only guide I've found suggests running circles around him in the direction that he's rotating, but every time I only take of 2/3 of his HP before I die.

You got your silver sword and shield back, right?  I think the armor comes after that, but I know you can get those two before then.

I'm pretty sure you can just kamikaze that shit if you do.  Lots of bosses in that game go down better if you just charge in like an idiot. :P

You can get the Silver Sword back before you fight him? For some reason I thought I had to wait until afterwards.

If so, that would probably make him A LOT easier.

I'm fucking retarded. I went back and got the silver sword, and Khonsclard went down in 15 seconds.

Now it makes sense why the last boss battle lasted 7 minutes, though.

There's one good rule of thumb you can use when playing the first two Ys games:  if the boss music loops more than once, then you've done something horribly wrong. :P  You've either missed an equipment upgrade or your underlevelled.  Since you can only get ten levels in Ys I Eternal for some reason, then you know it must be an upgrade issue.  Ys II is more of a level issue; for example, you'll notice a huge difference when you fight the last boss at the maximum level as compared to one below it.

Not sure why I'm chiming in here, but I just wanted to say that it made me happy to see someone playing Y's I & II. Enjoy them, man. It is a tad bit sad, though, that music in games nowadays is nowhere near as good as it was back then.
