Developer : Mistwalker

Platform(s) : iOS / Android
Genre : RPG

Release Date : September 2014

Official Website : http://www.terra-battle.com/en/

Terra Battle will launch as a free-to-play title. You'll be able to play up until the scenario's end with no charges, Sakaguchi said.

The game features several ranks of magic, including "Mega," "Giga," and "Terra." Terra is the best type of magic as it's part of the game's title.

Nobuo Uematsu is composing the game's music, with about 20 songs planned.

Sakaguchi said that while Terra Battle for smartphones is a starting point, he would eventually like to arrive at a console version, as well.

Hate to break this to you Yggdra, but Squeenix fanbot Zodiar had you beat in the General Discussion board by a week.

Also a smart phone game doesn't deserve its own thread unless it is the most amazing smart phone game or is the most amazing trainwreck, let alone two.

And here's some actual gameplay/story deets.

I'll give them credit for the Job changing mechanic actually changing up the character's artwork based on the current Job taken. More games with Job/Class changing mechanics should do that, but I'll take what I can get.

Sorry to bump this old topic, but instead of creating a new thread, I figured why not continue to discuss the game here.  Has anyone downloaded and played Terra Battle? I despise mobile games, but I just can't stop playing this. Everything from the brilliant soundtrack, awesome enemy designs and addicting combat, is just awesome.  The story seems bare-bones, but I'm really enjoying it and I believe the game has been downloaded almost 600,000 times, and if it gets to 1.5 million, Yasumi Matsuno and Yoshitaka Amano will put some content into the game.  I will say, that this is the best mobile game that I've ever put time into (I really wish the mobile version of Final Fantasy V and Final Fantasy Tactics would get ported to the VITA).

I downloaded it, but I'm not sure if it's my sort of thing yet. It's more puzzle than RPG really. Characters are unimportant, no plot really to speak of and the battle system is more geared towards where you place your units rather than how you've built them (which so far I don't actually see much room for modification). . But it's early days, these are just my first impressions. It could get better.

I guess what I meant, is that the mobile version has absolutely no lag, where Final Fantasy Tactics: TWotL, on the VITA, is just the PSP version that has the lag.
