Good Game For When You're Sick?
« on: July 08, 2014, 08:11:49 PM »
Sickness has me down today, and I'm already burnt out on Anime, movies, and forum browsing. So now I need a game to play, but I was hoping sore something simple-yet-engaging that won't take too much time. I'm not sure what would be good for that, though. I have a ton of games, but the ones that have been popping into my head are all too hard. I just know I can't think clearly right now with all the medicine I've been taking, so I could use some suggestions, please...

Edit: oh yeah, if possible I'd prefer something not too long, too, since I'm not in the mood to commit to a long haul. When I'm sick, my attention span kinda hits the floor. I just need something to mess around in, basically...

How about Minecraft?

...That's too complex a game even when I'm not sick. ^_^; I do have Terraria which I haven't tried, though...

Any numbered Final Fantasy game.
In my vision, I see that one of us is going to KO the other.

If you've got an iPhone/Pad/whatever, try Solomon's Keep.  It's a fun twin-stick shooter RPG, simple enough you can probably handle it sick, but with enough depth to it that you might want to play it after you're better.

Xenoblade.

Pretty graphics.
Pretty music.
Pretty simple battle system to sit your ass with while blowing your nose.

I included some important info I forgot about. Kinda looking for something that's more pick-up-and-play, so with that in mind...

I'm definitely considering this. I've never been good with iPad shooter controls, but I did end up playing Age of Zombies to death last time I was sick...

I only just started getting into the series, but I imagine Dynasty Warriors would be a pretty fun game to play when you're not feeling good.

Forgot to mention that it's free.  It offers some IAPs, but they're not "pay to win" things.  They're like DLC, and could not be more optional.

@Dice, Thanks! The meds I've been taking seem to be helping (it was strep throat), so hopefully I'll be better by tomorrow (at least good enough to work).

I only just started getting into the series, but I imagine Dynasty Warriors would be a pretty fun game to play when you're not feeling good.

That's probably a good choice, actually. Not sure if I want to play Gundam or Orochi 3, though. I've kinda had my fill of the former, but I have the latter on Wii U, whose controller doesn't like to stay charged...

Forgot to mention that it's free.  It offers some IAPs, but they're not "pay to win" things.  They're like DLC, and could not be more optional.

Yup, played some for a good while until my iPad ran out of battery on me. It's a nice Diablo-like. Makes me wonder if Torchlight would be a good pick.

Great, now I'm reminded of the hours I spent with Battlefield 2142. :P Kinda miss that game. Wonder if it's on Steam?

EDIT: It's not available anywhere. :T

The last game I played when I was sick was... Final Fantasy Tactics?

I make poor life choices, I know.

I actually rarely feel like gaming when the flu got a critical hit in. Stupid anime, that's something I'd go for. Or maybe a movie. But if I suddenly caught a bug now, I'd probably hook my laptop up to my TV and play short indie RPG's like Breath of Death VII.

I usually watch stuff, too, it's just that I watched too much before I even got sick. Short RPGs are a good suggestion, though.
