Aurian's Dragons
« on: July 12, 2014, 08:21:18 PM »
So I love doing fantasy art, and do a wide array of stuff. Drawing, painting, sculpting, carving, etc...

Lately I have been on a polymer clay kick (kinda fun compared to how finicky real clay can be when you are as detail-oriented as I can be!).
(Yes, I also game, and the dice figures are a hit with the nerd crowd).

Enjoy!

:O These are so cool! What are the eyes, though? Marbles? Or did you just use a shiny paint?

Beads made out of hematite. I use them in clay too since those can fire up to cone 6 without melting :)

Love them.  They're adorable, they're badass, they're adorably badass. Second one's expression is priceless.

If you lived a little closer by, I'd kidnap you and make you part of our awesome geeky crafts club. Don't worry, it's great! We drink tea and make terrible puns :D

But seriously, those dragons are adorable! I especially love the one with the cookie.

Thanks everyone :)

Badass? Wow I didn't know it was possible to be badass with a cookie ;)

Tomara, given that my puns frequently make people groan, it's a shame your group isn't closer by!

It is.  The guttural growling vocals that death metal bands like Cannibal Corpse use are referred to as Cookie Monster vocals.

And like baby bears or baby tigers, they're adorable at first but they're gonna get bigger and more menacing.

Or maybe I've just been playing too many games that look all sweet but can be hardcore difficult, hence the whole cute=badass thing.  (E.g. Battle Princess, Squids Odyssey)

When I first saw this dragon, I thought you made it with a pair of googly eyes. Also, I love the colors of this dragon! :)

Dincrest - Thank you :)

Wild Armor - ha ha, just the lighting, but maybe I'll do a silly googly-eyed dragon someday :)
