Xbox360 Wireless Controller Problem

My wireless controller for the Xbox 360 has gone screwy. Basically, when I turn it on, the centre button flashes, and just keeps doing so, rather than settling on a number. I've tried changing the batteries but it doesn't do anything.

Have you tried re-syncing it with the console? That seems like it might work. Also, check if you can turn the console on with the controller.
