WiiU
« on: December 27, 2014, 02:06:46 PM »
My husband bought this for Xmas, and we'll definitely buy Mario Kart for it. I am a bit stuck on what else to get sine I am mainly looking forward to Zelda and X for the system.

Looking for: good games to play multi-player with (in the same room, not online)
Do not want: Smashy games... We didn't like previous Smash titles.

Also want: games with story or fun gameplay, no trigger fingers please - we both suck at twitchy games.

If you like Dynasty Warriors games, you could pick up Hyrule Warriors. It has two player support and is one of the best Warriors games in recent memory.....I can't make any other recommendations as the only WiiU games I own are that and Smash.

Captain Toad should be good fun with a buddy. As would Super Mario 3D World. Oh, and Pikmin 3 might be worth looking into though I can't remember if there's co-op or not...

3d world is a beautiful game. Tropical freeze is also great but not co-op

3d world actually works as coop? I remember previous "coop" Mario games where you were "tethered " and we kept killing each other :-/

I think it's the same thing there, but there are less pits and greater range.

yeah it's not as fuck your neighbor as new mario world or whatever that was called. there are a few secrets that require two players

same for Rayman Legends. The new Rayman games are so beautiful and fun and supposedly the wii u is the best version of that one.

Wonderful 101 has co-op, and Bayonetta 2 has multiplayer something, but maybe not co-op.
edit: Trine 2 and Pikmin 3 also have co-op.

I mostly pop in occasionally to give my two cents on certain controversial things, so if you disagree then send a PM, because I generally don't check for replies in threads in case I feel like replying and then things get heated/derailed.

Wonderful 101 has co-op? I thought it was a multiplayer thing-y like in Bayonetta 2...

EDIT: It's a separate mode, but I do believe it is co-op. Interesting...

Well, picked up Mario 3D, Hyrule Warriors, Wind Waker HD, and have MK8 coming in the mail. Having fun with my husband in Mario 3D so far 😊

The colors in that game.

So good. There are a lot of one-off powerups too, reminds me a lot of SMB3

Say... if Nintendo made Super Mario Bros 4 I'd probably shit on myself

I know it's late...but yes, you still need the Wiimote. These rereleases will only be good for having the games digitally available at a decent price and you can skip a step getting into the game...convenient, but not the upgrade quite a few of us were hoping for...

Co-op works great in 3D world. Especially with 2 people. It's a bit harder with 4.

After that I'd recommend Bayonetta 2 and, something that roughly fits your requirements, Deus Ex. Good story and gameplay.
