I was hoping Square Enix could develop an original title for PSP.

Don't be silly, people don't make original titles for the PSP.

I had the same problem when I first played. I got stuck at the Riovanes castle battle and I saved between the first and second battles, so I was screwed and had to start over because Ramza was too weak to fight that battle alone.

Same here. Pretty big flaw in a otherwise great game not putting you on the map to save there. If you didn't go after the right skills or did some side leveling then you're pretty much fucked.

I think I did read one thing where you could basically run around him  out of his range without being attacked and use Ramza's speed boost repeatedly and then fight him so he doesn't get any turns since you're so fast. That's probably not something one's likely to come up with themselves though on their first playthrough when they're stuck.

There are some, just not enough, such as Valhalla Knights, Jeanne D'Arc, and Monster Kingdom: Jewel Summoner, even though it's not an entirely new title, but rather a continuation from an existing series.

Are you talking about Monster Kingdom? That's a whole new game for the PSP, and the PS3 game was not only announced after it came out in Japan, but I believe had a name change.

Ah, right. My bad. Yeah, the PlayStation 3 game is now called Unknown Realms. Both Monster Kingdom: Jewel Summoner and Unknown Realms are by the studio, Gaia, started by Kouji Okada, the person responsible for the Shin Megami Tensei series.
