Seems they are doing here in the UK with a few PS2 RPGs what they were doing in NA EBs last year. I got a "used" copy of Atelier Iris for £13 but when I paid for it, the guy passed me an unsealed copy that was actually new.
...I'd comment on how it is, but I forgot our PS2 controller is shot, so I CAN'T PLAY IT. :P

EB does that a lot, actually. A lot of the time we get in "used" games that still have the seals and shrinkwrap on them. As you mentioned, older games like Atelier Iris are usually the type of "used" games they do it with.
I've been playing FFVI Advance. Just did the Magitek Research Facility and got all my party members back together.

So Steambot Chronicles is pretty fun. The controls are absolute shit, though. It took me a couple of hours of play to get coordinated enough to go forward 100% of the time I tried. :P

Judging from the demo, yeah. It's like Katamari but backwards, pain in the ass to adjust to. I'd like to get the full game sometime, I know a site has it for $30.

I agree, I am 3/4 done with the game, and I still screw up with controls. Thankfully, the game is not heavily combat-oriented. It's a good game. I have fun screwing around with the choices provided. Some lead to funny results.
Did ya know he was the son of the gold miner who is romantic and good with money? :P (just some random selections partway through the game)

I got mine off eBay, brand new, for $20 plus shipping, and they had several copies available. Something to keep in mind, baby. :P

Tales of the Abyss- the story is pretty wicked, I've always liked the tragedy that strikes the world(s) in Tales games. The cahracters are freaking interesting and fun to shit and the battle system is pretty nifty (I don't get why people capitalize on the "Free Run" feature as something amazing...Star Ocean had that for years before Tales).
The story also feels somewhat dark though, IMO.

26 hours into FF XII:
Code:
just done Raithwall's tomb and kicked Vossler's arse.
Now I'm attempting to beat my Rank III marks - the rank V ones look a bit too difficult for now....

I do not know whether or not to call a particular person a friend or not. See, this friend let me borrow Devil Summoner: Raidou Kuzunoha vs. The Soulless Army, but hot darn this game is so much fun that I'm about to give it "grade killer" status. Hence, I don't know if this friend is really a fiend for enabling me to kill my grades.
I'm only a half hour into it, but it's great. When I'm not playing it, I think about playing it. Yeah, it's MegaTen lite and not as supercalafragilisticexpialadociously epic as FF12 or Rogue Galaxy, but the game is fun. I haven't played an RPG in a while (I got about 8 hours into FF12, and though that game is good, it's not all that much fun to play. It gets pretty boring at times.)
It's kinda nice to be back in the Megami Tensei fold. I've been out of that loop for a while.

Man, Neal. It's a good thing Persona 3's coming out during the summer. :P

FFXII.
Visited and completed the trip up that Tower (Pharos?). I'm glad that's over with.

I'm not sure if I'll be picking that one up or not. Money being tight and all that. I was debating whether or not to use my upcoming tax refund for an Xbox 360 or new pickups for my bass... and I'm choosing new pickups.
