so like, what if you were on a street team for a band, (street team meaning sycophantic advertising tool that works for pins and stickers, to make your favorite band richer while you draw the ire of everyone around you), and you joined up on message boards that have nothing to do, really, with the band, then started a topic about the band?
starting a topic about a band you like isn't a bad thing, but using your avatar to spread what amounts to a repeating 4 second commercial for their latest album is lame.
so what are YOUR thoughts on street teams?

Man, street teams are a shit deal for everyone but the property being advertised. You act like shit, make people feel like shit, advertising a shit property, just so you can get "free" shit.
Street teams are bullshit.

the worst part is, a band's fans usually promote their favorite artists without the promise of cheap trinkets. I like Demons and Wizards. there, I said it. I don't have to whore myself out for Hansi and John, though, to make myself feel good about listening ot their music.

Yeah, but I'd whore myself out for Hansi. German pride. :(
Anyway, I take pride in stuff I listen to. Like my title here now is Angel in Black, which is one of my favorite songs by Primal Fear. Who are also German.
...Maybe I should create a street team for Germany. Those guys are alright!

Of course, some means of
message board advertising
are more nefarious than others.
