Disagree. This game looks drastically different from XBC. Way more Sci fi and high tech. The music fits.

I agree, based on what I've seen, of couse.  More importantly, I'm glad to see the series change directions a bit rather than just hammer on the same esthetics again.  This is the last series I want to see stagnate by riding its own coattails.  If your problem is "the sequel is too different!" then just pretend it has a different name and try to enjoy it on its own merits.

Xensaga 2 had *vastly* different music from Xenosaga 1, and that ended up being a great change, even though the first had a great thing going for it.  I do still think it's a little asinine to compare the ost's directly though.  Kaijura's baroque pop and Mitsuda's orchestral work were going for a totally different vibe, just like Xenoblade and Xenoblade X.  Again, you might not like them both, but they're both of a high quality.

I don't know how I feel about all of the piano tracks being at the end of the album but the variety is what makes this album much stronger than the first (I like electronica so I could be biased). This was probably the most unique VG ost I've heard in a long time.

It sounds like we had the exact same reaction xD. Glad you're enjoying it!
