Super hyped up for this! Loved SMTIV a ton (although I do love Soul Hackers a lot more, Nemissa FTW!).

Anyway! Found a tumblr with a translation of Yamai's interview in Famitsu about SMTIV: Final
http://dijeh.tumblr.com/post/130835715798/hours-of-procrastination-later-its-time-for

The story is explained a little further and it really sounds like Final takes place before the Neutral Ending for SMTIV.  A somewhat cool and entertaining read haha

I hope the dungeons are better designed this time around. I want to see at least one more mainline SMT title that's on par with Nocturne in difficulty&overall quality, even if they can't match the 3D levels of it.

Was any of the original SMT4 DLC worth it? I didn't try any of it because none of it caught my fancy.

This looks much the same, but I've heard rumors of a DLC boss battle with Stephen.

Depends on what you are looking for. Personally I liked the DLC that sent you back in time and had the Masakado's (was that his name?) Shadow demon. Although I don't know if that was worth it as I forgot the price (and it was very short). Grinding DLC was good for grinding (duh). Honestly not really remembering what other DLC there was besides the armor DLCs which were the most powerful armors in the game...so you know not worthless but likely not worth their cost unless you like the appearances.

Edit: Just remembered two other DLCs which were....interesting plot resolutions. They were incredibly short also though. So interesting but probably overpriced unless they were 1 dollar.

Really overpriced (even with that one time discount) and not particularly worth it.
In my vision, I see that one of us is going to KO the other.

I was grumpy that many of the series' usual optional bosses were resigned to DLC packages. Especially the four angels, who had a lot to do with the main game. A frustrating precedent when compared to earlier titles' wealth of hidden encounters and super bosses, to say the least.

Mega hyped for Apocalypse no matter what, but I hope they ditch that 1-in-256 chance to fight the Horsemen bullplop that was in 4. What a crappy conditional.

Working on the original SMTIV right now. One of few games I would actually call "rewarding," though I hate how enemies can be fickle at times during negotiation.

I still hate negotiation and no one can every change my opinion about how stupid I think it is, but the other quality of life additions (better map, less opaque about the affinity system, party members that are actually helpful) really help it shine. I can see myself liking this one more than SMTIV.

I had a choice between Apocalypse or Dragon Quest VII, but since it the latter seemed out of stock on Amazon (they said estimated delivery 1 to 2 months), I ordered the former instead, and hope it improves upon the original SMTIV.

I don't normally follow the SMT series but Apoc caught my attention.... looks like they're going all out on it.

In terms of just JRPGs... Apocalypse looks about as good as any I've seen.

Give it a shot Artimicia! Well, don't start here, because it's basically a sequel. But SMTIV is a great start for the series. They're highly polished RPGs with some Pokemon elements, if you've got a 3DS. They're pretty fun!

The Megami Tensei games were first to have monster-capturing, and I still think most of the games in the series do it better than the Pokémon titles do.
