Yes yes yes yes yes.

Edit: Okay. I love the trailer. Ni No Kuni was a gorgeous game that was quite fun but tried a little too hard on the Pokemon aspects. I'm more excited that a game that didn't look like it was going to get a sequel will get one after all.

As much as I look forward to it, I wish they could have called the English version something other than Ni no Kuni, since that's just plain lazy-ass localization, maybe "The Otherworld" or "Anotherland." I'd also suggest "Another World" but that's taken I believe.

Is that guy in the trailer supposed to be the same boy from the first game?  If so, he certainly grew up...

I hope the gameplay is less awful.  I loved everything about this game but the battle system kept me from beating it...

Why is Kindaichi dressed as an alchemist? XD

Anyway, I agree, the battlesystem needs some work.

I feel like it it was more the AI itself that needed help.  It is sad when to be good at a game you need to work to exploit a broken system. In Ni No's case it was maximizing the support characters as damage sponges and whoring out my controlled characters as pure offensive beasts because ANY OTHER formula that relied on my team doing ANYTHING USEFUL was a complete wasted effort.

That said, I cast my vote on this being the absolute best news of the past weekend for me. I loved Ni No Kuni and this was not expected so soon. I've been off the JRPG train for some time but I'll be back on for this one, rest assured.
I am more a battlefield than a Ninja.

I honestly thought MC was a girl.  He's got excellent eyelashes.

I'm also super surprised they never really changed/localized the title of the game.

Yeah, and any of the alternate English franchise names I suggested certainly wouldn't be a mouthful like say, True Goddess Reincarnation/Rebirth/Transmigration/Metempsychosis (translation of Shin Megami Tensei).

I was fine with the battle system, it's the AI they need to work on. It's hard to get anything done when you're essentially babysitting two flailing idiots the entire battle (assuming you took them off the default "spam my most powerful Magic/Tech until I'm out of MP, regardless of whether or not it was necessary" mode).

And my interest shot up 120%
http://gematsu.com/2016/10/ni-no-kuni-ii-kingdom-creation-system

Prepare to spend hours grinding for that one house piece that's required to advance the plot to drop, and expect to have to grind far longer to build anything else.

Oh and who's willing to bet money that the lion's share of your character advancement options comes from your 'insert MMO levels of grind here' township?

Fortunately, the MC's (or failing that, one of the other prominent male character's) options should be gamebreaking enough that all you need to do is grind for about two or three pieces and you'll coast through the rest of the game (your other party members will of course be Shit outta Luck).

But who knows, maybe we'll all get lucky and they'll be kind enough to sell us those township pieces for only $2.99 a piece (or we'll get unlucky and they'll simply sell us the option of a alternate recolor of your choice for $2.99 apiece).

Please consult your doctor if your interest in a Level 5 game lasts for more than 4 hours, and keep out of the reach of children. Side-effects will occur in persons of all ages, some may be severe, extra fees and shipping & handling may also apply, allow one to two years for delivery.
In my vision, I see that one of us is going to KO the other.

Yeah, not gonna lie, those were the first things that went through my head when I saw that news. I want it to be a good mechanic, but from my experience, Level 5 really loves their forced grinding in place of actual difficulty and/or constructive content, so I don't think I'll leave my hopes atop that salty pillar for long...

I think the game looks like a work of art.  Hopefully, the gameplay will be as good as its graphics.
