Dragons! Every good RPG must have dragons! I liked the look of the ones in FF8, and in BoF too. And variations of dragons is always good, too - like the wyverns in FE games.

You know what I'd like to see?  Imps, Final Fantasy style.  And not those green abominations from FFVI, either.  The short bitches with the hats and the knives from FF1 and FF4, and maybe two and three but I haven't played those much because they suck.

I also like Pyro Jack and Succubus from the SMT games.

Weren't the "imps" in FFVI really Kappas or something?

Anyway, game breakdown:

Earthbound:

Any of the alien types, really. Starmen, the UFOs, the, uh.... furry tentacle shambler things. EB UFOs look like DQ slimes sort of. Also the things you see in moonside.

Saga:

Any of the flying things from Frontier, really. And those clawshrimp things.

Wasteland:

Nuns.

Phantasy Star:

Gorgeous enemies in all the games, really :) Like, everything from PS2, most of the ones from PS1 and III, and everything from IV, again. The inexplicable mix of sci-fi and fantasy in those games reminds me of the early gameboy saga games really. Probably why I'm so fond of both.

I like them to be memorable. Either neat spins on classic/mythological creatures, some really fucked up things (like the first Shadow Hearts, and to a lesser degree the second - can't comment on the third), or just plain weird encounters like pretty much everything in the Earthbound/Mother series - gotta love randomly beating up hippies. :P

... How do the UFOs resemble Slimes again?

i just fought 2 hilarious enemies in valkyrie profile 2.

Dog Alicia and Dog Hrist.
HAHA! i was laughing to hard to concentrate on the fight when dog alicia said
"I'M PLUMP" theres other dog monsters too but the mention of thier names would be spoiler material for some of them.

I love fighting classic enemies. The little dutch looking goblins from FF1
Slime, any battle with a slime is instant win.

Giant chariot-driving cocks are pretty cool. Or something.

Also: Ultros. I concur.

I remember that there was a good link for an article about SMT's adult content, like giant cock demons, on this board some time ago. It was quite traumatic.

?! And I thought that Succubi and Incubi were as adult as SMT got! Looks like Nocturne was rather mild for an SMT game...
