Here's some music you wouldn't think was anime-related.  But it is.

The Bangles - Walk Like an Egyptian
Savage Garden - I Want You
Yes - Roundabout
Pat Metheny Group - Last Train Home

...no, seriously, those are all ending themes from a certain anime series.

You know I would not have been surprised if this was from a  music based show like BECK.  Jojo has always been way out there with its pop culture influences, and references though.

Imagine a giant robot.  Got it?  All right.
Whatever it is you're thinking of, Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann is bigger than that.  Even if you were already thinking of Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann.

Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann - With Your Drill, Pierce the Heavens!!
Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann - Libera Me From Hell
Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann - Sorairo Days

Death Parade - Moonlit Night
Death Parade -  Memento Mori
Death Parade -  Death Parade
Beautiful but sad tracks. If that isn't your thing you might want to pass.

Although Samurai Champloo's music works well in context, the individual tracks tend to get a bit repetitive when you listen to them on their own.  Still, there are catchy sections here and there, and this can be a nice soundtrack to leave playing in the background.

Samurai Champloo - Sneak Chamber
Samurai Champloo - 1st Samurai
Samurai Champloo - Aruarian Dance
Samurai Champloo - The Million Way of Drum
Samurai Champloo - Shiki no Uta

Flowers of Evil took the interesting approach of having different characters from the series sing the opening theme at different points in the series.  Here are two of them.
Nakamura's theme is abrasive, pitchy, and laden with profanity; Saeki's theme is lyrical, sweet, and very Japanese.  Yet despite the harsh contrast, at the end they're singing the same melody.
Flowers of Evil - OP (Nakamura)
Flowers of Evil - OP (Saeki)

The ending theme is ... unpleasant.  Yet as it lurches along, a strange rhythm emerges, that wraps its tendrils around my throat and doesn't let go.   Had I studied music, perhaps I could express why I believe this is somehow technically superb, even though it sounds awful.
Flowers of Evil - A Last Flower

Disclaimer:  Even if I may think all of these are good, Saeki's theme is the only one I actually like.

One of my favorite Kajiura songs is the lesser known A Thousand and One Nights from .hack//Liminality and .hack//Sign.

Pride Kakumei - Chico w/ Honeyworks. Another great Gintama OP. Its also the opening to Thomas the Tank Engine in Japan.

Haven't made a post in weeks due to Persona addiction. Say what you want about the actual series but Naruto had a fine soundtrack, and the character themes really came through.
Orochimaru Fight Theme
Fake
Jiraya Theme
Sasuke Destiny
Avenger
Hokage
Those Who Inherit The Will of Fire

And Pain's theme from Naruto Shippuden

Do you see that man over there?
The one walking toward us?
You four girls
are going to kill him
with your bare hands

Red Garden - Kojin no Shi
Red Garden - Watashitachi no Hibiki (Kokia)
Red Garden - Sou de Aru to Negau Kara

In contrast to the melancholy orchestration of the main soundtrack, here's the somewhat more aggressive ending theme:
Red Garden - Rock the LM.C

Here's the rocking opening to Luna Varga, that 1990s OVA series I often talk about; it's the one about a princess with Godzilla literally attached to her hiney.
