(I think it counts since the word "anime" refers to animated programming in general.)
Please don't open that can of worms as it has the potential take the thread in a way that was not originally intended.

I also prefer the English version to some anime themes even if its totally different. Pokemon and Sailor Moon say hello.
I'd get shot by a lot of DBZ fans, but I preferred Rock the Dragon to Head Cha La.

Wolf's Rain - Gravity The live version because youtube wants to be difficult.

Neither can compare with the musical complexity and lyrical sophistication of the Canadian versionOr perhaps I just like it better because that's what I got used to first.

Attack on Titan - Utsukushiki Zankokuna Sekai.

I forgot to put this one in.  It's "Dear My Best Friend" which is the ending theme to the 1990s Ushio & Tora OVAs.  Such a great song.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tuX9WTkUNSk

Ushio & Tora has been on my backlog of need to buy anime forever.....I need to get around to actually getting it (that is if I can find a non bootleg copy of the old series for collection purposes). I probably should just move the 2015 version up the backlog and watch it.

With the Ushio and Tora 1990s OVAs, only the first couple of volumes had "Brave Fighter" and "Dear My Best Friend."  The later volumes had other opening and ending songs which were forgettable.

Thread contribution:
Although the Bleach anime is hit-or-miss (it suffered the fate of many "mainstream" action-adventure series, like Naruto or InuYasha or One Piece, of having too many filler episodes and occasionally losing focus), the opening song "Velonica" by Aqua Timez is pretty rocking.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mBqoLEP5zA8

And my favorite DBZ opening theme is the instrumental one that starts at the 2 minute mark.  That breakdown riff at 2:41 is stuck in my head to this very day.  https://youtu.be/unAIS4hBOWE?t=121

I'm rather partial to Bleach - Scandal (OP 10), myself.  (If that's too fanservicey for you, try the full version instead.)

And as long as I'm here, have some metal.

Cowboy Bebop - Live in Baghdad
Death Note - What's Up People?!

Bleach Ending 2 - Thank you
Since you can't find a version that is not a cover, I will just shout it out and be done with it. Bleach ending 3 Hoki Boshi

And as long as I'm here, have some metal.

Cowboy Bebop - Live in Baghdad
Death Note - What's Up People?!
Did someone say metal?!
Detroit Metal City - SATSUGAI
Detroit Metal City-Mad Monster
Detriot Metal City - Maou

We can't talk Kajiura without talking about one of my all time favorite anime series: Noir.  "Salva Nos" is another song that simply refuses to get unstuck from my head.  So good.

(And, not gonna lie, I think Mireille Bouquet is the most beautiful anime woman I've ever laid eyes on.)

More "girls with guns" stuff

And even though I didn't like Madlax as much as Noir, I loved the song "Nowhere."  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7mArmkaZMU0

Burn Up W (and its predecessor, Burn Up!) was a total guilty pleasure anime for me, so here's the opening theme "Flash Your Dream."  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xAIG4zTrYq4

Back in the day, ADV dubs didn't have the best reputation, but I thought Gunsmith Cats' dub was really good.  I loved this piece of funky music too, Hateshinai Toiki https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NdlzYrUS-sk

---
Not "girls with guns" stuff, but still stuff I liked:

In the "first anime" thread, I mentioned that the first anime I saw that I knew was anime (with subtitles and all) was Devil Hunter Yohko, and the music is a big part of why I loved it.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=24jDOctBdXc  (My going joke is that Devil Hunter Yohko being my first anime explains a lot about my tastes and such.)

Boogiepop Phantom was one of my favorite series, and I loved the music.  "Delirious" is a piece that always stuck with me because it was so delightfully disconcerting: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G8AgH2hnM2A

---
EDIT: While I was listening to all this killer anime music, this popped up in my recommended list and I'm glad it did.  It's called Inner Universe by Yoko Kanno and Origo, and it's a really cool song.  What series is it from?  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EIVgSuuUTwQ

It's from Ghost in the Shell: Standalone Complex.  It's a great series, with one of Kanno's better soundtracks (and that's saying something).

Inner Universe is one of the best from that OST, but here's a few more favorites:
Standalone Complex - Velveteen
Standalone Complex - Lithium Flower
Standalone Complex - run rabbit junk
