New Radiant Historia!

I'm going to be so ever loving pissed if this is a mobile title.

And I'm going to hold my composure until I'm certain that they don't do something stupid like give us Bland von Japanese Highschooler McEveryMaleAnimeProtagonist or make it yet another Persona clone.
In my vision, I see that one of us is going to KO the other.

Well I'm in for this as long as it isn't a mobile game. Radiant Historia is one of my favorite games of all time after all.

My sleep-deprived brain read this as a new Radiata Stories and now I'm just disappointed.

My sleep-deprived brain read this as a new Radiata Stories and now I'm just disappointed.

While another Radiata Stories would be nice (maybe, its been a long time and certain things would need updating), Radiant Historia was actually pretty close to being a JRPG classic (and a badly needed one too given the whole DS library where it, the DQ remakes, the Metroidvanias, M&L:BIS, TWEWY and VP: CotP were the standouts (the Lufia 2 remake got pretty close, the CT remake was just another CT port with a bunch of useless Squeenix port garbage stapled to the end of it, the Zelda DS games were almost alright, FE:SD was a bad remake and New Mystery never officially left Japan (and was also kinda not that good of a remake), the FF remakes were pretty but badly done, Infinite Space had a good idea buried under bad gameplay systems, there was a Front Mission 1 port in there somewhere, and everything else was a Pokemon collectathon of varying quality/a dungeon crawler with hopefully a map-it-yourself feature/stranded in Japan/aged really badly/just plain awful) and that's not getting into the loss of WEP WiFi and the online servers rendering most everything legacy tech by the end of the era). All it needed was a system that wasn't as woefully underpowered as the DS, a budget, and an endgame that didn't suck the fun out of the rest of it.
In my vision, I see that one of us is going to KO the other.

Honestly a rare case where I've been hoping for a sequel or...anything!
Loved the first game a lot.

In the disappointment of the week, looks like they're just doing a 3DS remake.

On the one hand, its just a remake, on the other hand, its a remake with a goddamn budget this time.

On the other other hand, from what I can spy from the Famitsu Scan, the art style looks redone in an ehh way...?

At any rate, at least its not some kind of mobile crap. Now if they can just do something about that lategame slog.

(Boy I look the fool for not just posting in the Miscellaneous Games News Thread. This wasn't worth an entire thread.)
In my vision, I see that one of us is going to KO the other.

This actually sounds awesome:

Radiant Historia, 3DS remake and "new scenario"

Quote
6998yen for digital and retail, 10584yen for the "Perfect Edition" LE. Same director and composer. New character designer is Masaki Hirooka (Suikoden Tierkreis).

- Selectable Difficulty Settings
- Voice acting
- Brand new graphics
- Beautiful visuals for the event scenes
- Animated opening video by A-1 Pictures

- There is a new Sub-History scenario route to go with the Normal and Alternative Histories. The new character plays an important role there.

- There are two game modes - Perfect Mode and Append Mode. In Perfect Mode, all 3 scenarios are mixed together from the start. In Append Mode, you have only have the regular and alternative histories available initially, and you unlock the sub-history after completing the game once.

- Game is 95% complete.

Man, Stocke looks super sad. Maybe it's the low quality of the magazine scan distorting the art, but he looks like me when watching a really sad anime and trying not to cry. It's okay, Stocke, maybe the next Gundam series will be a little less kill-happy!

Well I am excited for the sub-history scenario. I have no idea of what that means, but I look forward to learning how this girl in white factors into what ever the hell sub-history is. *excitement intensifies*

I'm hoping it ties into them not really dealing with the game's central environmental concern....
Spoiler: show
They never did solve the 'desertification' issue, did they?

Golden Sun Dark Dawn also join this list of unresolved environmental hazard.

If you get the true ending it is implied that Stocke's time travelling shenanigans have put the world onto the path to fix the problem? I mean it is a problem that isn't going to be fixed in a day, but I remember leaving the game believing that everything would be solved in time.

While they never 'solved' the desertification, they did
Spoiler: show
come up with a way to mitigate and 'potentially solve' the problem in a sidequest.

Anyways, all I want are 1) actual HP Values for enemies instead of a vague meter, 2) the rewards screen to not instantly merge battle Exp and G gains with combo Exp and G gains then immediately dump that onto your party's mass of gained Exp and G, 3) the rewards screen to also show which enemy dropped what, and 4)
Spoiler: show
a place to get Eruca some endgame levels of Exp so that she isn't 20 levels behind your lowest leveled unit, especially for when you're forced to use her against the closest thing the game has to a 'bonus boss' (who was a 3x3 enemy and also forced you to use Aht, hopefully 5) they don't take away her Dancing Dagger).
In my vision, I see that one of us is going to KO the other.
