As stated by alot of the other people in this post, I am going to get Suikoden 5 on release, based on your word alone. I do have faith in your love of Suikoden, and if you say it is better than 2, I am so holding your feet to the fire.

If this game blows, expect an angry mob at your house. ^^

I just finished putting some ice on my ass from that dry entry raping that was Grandia 3, so I need something to hold me and tell me that I am special and can be loved.

I'm going to be nitpicky because I'm a bad person:
Code:
Wan-Fu and Landis weren't returning characters at all. Wan-Fu had the same schtick going on as Rikimaru, and Landis as Sid, but they aren't the same people. Also, Emily was the daughter of Ronnie Bell and Mose, not Oulan, and Lilly isn't really 'second generation' as she appeared on her own in Suikoden II, albiet as a small child.

Ah well, I tried. Just working with what ive got up here, more power to ya!

and also I am a firm believer that buying Suikoden 1 and 2 are worth what you can pay for them on ebay - I can think of a million and one things I could spend the 120$ on that wouldnt give me the satisfaction of the story. Plus you can always buy the game - play it - and then resell it again and you wont lose a penny!

It's just as, if not even more heartbreaking than that, I'm not even joking.

Wow, that is sounding really good. So, er, do you need to have played the previous Suikoden games to enjoy Sui V? Does the story tie in to the other games like in, say, the Shadow Hearts games? I'm really tempted to pick this one up after hearing your favorable impressions, but I haven't played any of the older Suikoden games.

No, Suikoden V is an excellent standalone game. It happens way after Suikoden IV, so no connection there, and it happens before I, II, and III, with the only connection being Georg, so the connection to the later ones isn't too strong either. You'll get more out of the story (possibly) if you've played the other games, but Suikoden V is a standalone, no doubt.

I've already seen Killey (haven't gotten him to join yet though), but haven't seen Valeria yet.

Lorelai and Killey are two of my fave characters from Suiko2 that have little to no story.

The more I hear about this the more I want this game.

Thanks a lot, Ash....now i have to get a job, fucker.
