My Nintendo Wii is dead.

It seems that my Wii has died.
It's all plugged in, both at the socket and at the back of the console, but it's simply dead, no power, no standby light, nothing.
This seems unusual considering Nintendo's hardware is usually well made, so I'm hoping I'm just missing something ridiculously obvious, hence posting her before getting on to Nintendo.
Any suggestions?

Do other things work when plugged into the same outlet? Could be a faulty outlet or a tripped fuse or something.

No, I've tested other things on the same socket, so it's not that.
Time to call an undertaker methinks :(

Call up Nintendo of Europe, Deg. There have been quite a few cases (I've handled at least 20-30) of people having this issues and it's been found that some power cords are faulty. Call them up and get a replacement cord. It's MOST LIKELY that.
Know anyone else with a Wii? Try their power cord first to save yourself a phone call. Or hell, walk into a local game shop and see if they have one you can try.

I don't know about England, but here in the States most, if not all, retail stores have a 90 day in-store policy. Seeing though you had to have gotten it less than 90 days ago, you should be able to take it back and get a new one. That is, depending on your retail warranty laws.

That seems most likely, I've done nothing to the console itself to encourage malfunction.
Thanks a lot, guys.

Where has a 90 day return policy on electronics? Most stores it's 30 days.

All right, we are going to use a fan brush here and uh why don't you take some hunter green and we are going to put a happy little bush right down over here in the corner there and that'll just be our little secret and if you tell anyone that that bush is there I will come to your house and I will cut you.

He's probably actually thinking of the warranties companies provide their games/systems. THough I think some, if not most systems, go for a year. X360 and I believe my PS2 do anyway.

Warranty shit aside.....when it comes to video game systems and malfunctioning products....MOST retail stores like to be asswipes (I'm talking to you Toy's R Us) and refer the consumer to the manufacturer.
Deg...dont listen to them...returning would be fucking retarded anyway...WHO EVEN HAS WII CONSOLES?

Out of curiosity, did you download any updates for the Wii?
I've heard one theory for malfunctioning Wiis is that the flash memory gets corrupted from a download, thus fucking said console.
Good luck getting it fixed.
