Currently playing Sen III. so far deep into Ch.1, the A.I is very bad. more than likely Enemies are going to ignore you, if you put some distance between yourself and them during battles, they won't be attacking you and will just pass their turns doing (literally) nothing.

Can't Judge the Story (Come on, we all know the story begins in the final chapters), Character interactions are superb and new NPCs are pretty much unique and likeable.

and the OST, man it's so phucking epic. I'd say it's as good as Ao no Kiseki (or even better!)

Well there you go, it was my first impression, the selling point (at least for me) is and always will be Story when it comes to TLoH. I hope it satisfies my ridiculously high expectations.

I've been watching a Twtich user by the name of OMGFloofy stream the game.  It looks really good in motion.  For a small time developer, Falcom has done a fine job making this game pretty.

They are direct sequels, so yes.

If you have a desire to play THIS, though, there is literally zero reason not to play Cold Steel 1.

Guess  I didn't explain that well. Each game builds off each other with  Cold Steel  cliff-hangering into II and III finally ending the Cold Steel series.  Starting with III would be like starting at the climax of a book.

Yeah, that was evident, I was more replying to @Alisha to encourage her not to hold back from jumping right into Cold Steel 1.

Unless it is a joke, I've heard there is a huge cliffhanger at the end of CS III. I haven't delved into this because I don't want to risk being spoiled, but it came up on the Falcom subreddit so I'm unsure what to think. It is said to be even a worse cliffhanger than the end of CS I. ;(

What bugged me about the CS1 cliffhanger is I felt like all the good plot was shoved in at the last 5 minutes of this 40+ hour game.

I havn't even played 2 yet.

Damn it, Falcom! I thought this was supposed to be the end !!!

edit: I love me some Cold Steel but there becomes a point a continual series gets too long for its own good. It is good for the fans, but very alienating for getting new people into the series.

That sounds like a very "Trails" thing to do.  I kinda like that they're not afraid to devote an ENTIRE VIDEO GAME PLOT to what is essentially exposition.  I don't mind slow, meandering stories that let me really get to know the characters.

Finished replaying Trails In The Sky on PC a few days back. Six years after playing it on PSP, I can finally play the sequel. And the third game. FINALLY.
