jesu - Silver
After about a year of listening to the
Silver
EP, I finally found the lyrics to the epic title track.
i don't understand the pain
i just don't feel quite the same
when you hear them walk away
left you here so you can stay
silver's just another gold
when you're bitter and you're old
you could tell me anything
but not what the future brings
silver's just another gold
I've come to appreciate this EP a lot more recently than I did a year ago. Really great stuff.

Rush - The Pass
I can tell that Dan Swano really likes this song since almost every Nightingale track sounds like this one tune. :P
[EDIT]
Fuck that, my song of the moment is The Chondrin Enigma by Aborted. I had no idea they were this fucking good.

Today's song is the Who classic "Baba O'Riley", as done by
the Blue Man Group on some TV show.
It's hard for me to resist a good version of this song. :P

Dan Traub - Bakersfield Truck Stop
This guy's really cool. His band's sound is almost like a cross between Lynyrd Skynyrd and Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers. Really killer track, too.

I just showed an 80s metal loving friend today the joy of X-Japan. We have this dream of doing an 80s metal project with some select friends (though it likely will never happen) and since I neither have long hair or a shaved head, I'll wear a wig... and I'd want a bright pink wig.
So my songs of the moment are "Rusty Nail," "Kurenai," and "Dahlia" by X-Japan.
The only X-Japan CD I have is the double CD "Best of- Fans' Selection" so I definitely need to get some more X-Japan stuff. I love the mix of heavy, power, and prog metal. Their music sounds larger than life and their pioneering visual kei thing makes them look like larger than life anime heroes. Hide's pink hair was awesome. RIP.

I'm glad I'm not the only fan of X-Japan. They are amazing. I love all of their songs including the epic Art of Life. Hide's solo albums are quite different from X but are great too.

Before I post my SotM, I was wondering if anyone can help me with some lyrics that are bugging the hell outta me. It's on a CD at work, and I know I recognise the band or the vocalist, but I just can't place her!
As you can probably gather, it's a female singer/lead band. Very rocky, very funky. Sounds a lot like Elastica, if that helps anybody! At the moment, the only lines I've got are "Jealousy can't (won't?) get you anything that you lost," and "It's over. Take comfort that it's over." I've tried googling those lines, but can't find them... :(
Anyways, song of the moment is the frighteningly awesome
Teenage Kicks
, by
The Undertones
:
Are teenage dreams so hard to beat
Everytime she walks down the street
Another girl in the neighbourhood
Wish she was mine, she looks so good
I wanna hold her wanna hold her tight
Get teenage kicks right through the night
I'm gonna call her on the telephone
Have her over cos i'm all alone
I need exitement oh i need it bad
And its the best, i've ever had
I wanna hold her wanna hold her tight
Get teenage kicks right through the night
I wanna hold her wanna hold her tight
Get teenage kicks right through the night
