Heh lampoon movies such “Scary Movie”, “Not another Teen Movie” and “Dated Movie” seem to be pretty popular in the movie industry.

Would you play a lampoon RPG based on the clichés or memorable elements from all the other popular RPGs?

What kind of ridicule gags would you imagine in such a RPG?

If done well, certainly. Even if it's just alright, I'd probably check it out.

I already played Bard's Tale and found it pretty nice.  :p  Part of the problem though with gag RPGs is humor is such a difficult concept to really do well, especially when you need a solid playing experience beyond the gags alone.  As far as what to lampoon, I figure anything that's silly in RPGs would work pretty well.  Your bad things in RPGs thread pretty much sums up a lot of what I'd poke fun at.

I've always kind of wanted some crazy game like that, with all the different RPGs and memorable characters all mixed into one experience.

I'm sort of making a lampoon style RPG with RPG Maker XP, myself. There's truly an endless amount of resources to work off of, so I find it great fun figuring out all the different cameos and parodies that I can use.

I think its a great idea.  Poke fun of the elements posted on the cliche list somewhere in the forum, and you'll have a pretty funny RPG, IMO.

The Mother series is a perfect example of this, and I would certainly welcome more.

Funny someone should bring this up. I'm actually in preproduction for one of these in RPG Maker XP right now. I plan to release it on 8/1/06, which would be the 10 year anniversary of its Megazeux incarnaton (Which is LONG lost.)

I enjoy real strange games (heck im the warioware champ from an anime con) so I would like to see an RPG like that poking fun at what we adored so much. I have quite a few ideas about that so maybe one of these days it will come to life.
