I haven't played TotT, but I really loved the 3D battle system of TotA, and could see that working really well on a DS. I really appreciated the fact that at is core, it was still a 2D battle system, but that you could move your characters in 3D at the push of a button, that way back and forth (normally) always controlled the distance from the character to the enemy, that was a great concept.

I never cared for SO3s battle-system much (or SO3 at all, for that matter), I found a lot of it to be very obnoxious and an overall pain in the ass. For one thing, there was just WAY too much stun locking, to the point where I felt like I wanted to throw my controller and walk away. At the moment, I trust Namco to do a better battle-system than Tri-Ace... although I have yet to get my grubby paws on Silmeria, and I've heard the battle system there was great.
