Revolution.....Renamed?!

Coming up this week is the Game Developer's Conference where Nintendo is scheduled to unveil a few things about their next console...including a new name?

Revolution seems like a fine name to me. Well...wasnt the Saturn originally going to be called the Katana?

*sigh* I bet they'll follow the naming convention by using numbers in their name. REVOLUTION 180!!!

Most of these things tend to get new names before their incarnation, don't they? Longhorn to Vista and all that jazz. Honestly, Revolution 180 > XBox 360 anyway.

I thought the name "Revolution" was symbolic to how the system would change the gaming industry and all that cool stuff.

Maybe they'll ditch it in favor of the old Gamecube name, Dolphin?

I realize I'm probably in the minority on this, but I wouldn't mind buying games for a system called "the Nintendo Dolphin." Sounds kinda classy, really.

That's silly, Revolution is an actually decent name.  I bet the final name ends up being silly.  Pokeball Go or something. :p

Watch. The name is changed from the Revolution, to NINTENDO Revolution! Hell, maybe the two words switched.

I think if it's not going to have Revolution in it, it's going to be some variant of Nintendo or Famicom, like the original systems. the Revolution is supposed to be a sort of return to their roots IIRC, and that seems like the most fitting thing to do naming wise.

Upon browsing about this story I've come across a few places that have the name "Legacy" being tossed around.

Revolution is a fine name, even if it is just the code name....I think they should keep it.

As long as they don't call it the teletubby kiddy machine it'll be ok.

I m so used to it hearing it as the Revo so I think it fits and should be kept that way, but than I am not picky with names and I will still get the console even if it has a crappy name, but I think any would be fitting. Heck even if by some chance it will be called "The Box!" would sound interesting coming from them.

I think Revolution sounds incredibly generic and is a poor attempt at being pretentious, so.

Just put a fun adjective at the beginning of it.  You know, like Super.  Or since that's taken, how about Excellent.
