Dissidia: Final Fantasy - fighting game?

Not interested.  Looks like it works in the vein of Power Stone, which I didn't like at all.  I prefer more in-your-face combat fighting games over projectile based ones.  Plus, when has Square-Enix ever put out a good fighting game?  Even their best ones can't compare to stuff like Virtua Fighter, Tekken, or Street Fighter.

Honestly, I'm somewhat excited for this game, if only for the fact I get to play as Ultimecia.  I thought Ultimecia was the best thing about FFVIII...  Too bad she got so little screen time.  Also, one of the hardest end bosses I've ever fought.

If Dissidia sucks square'll have to make an AWESOME shmup afterwords with a similar sounding name so that in five years whenever someone brings up the shmup everyone else'll think of the fighting game and get confused.

I'll take another Einhander.  Einhander on the PSOne was awesome.  I still think Einhander and Rad Racer are the two best non-RPGs Square's done.

I don't know why everyone is being so negative without even playing the damn thing. It wont be the best fighting game ever but you are acting like it's impossible for it to be a decent fighting game.

the novelty of FF characters won't be enough to hide a shitty system, if it is indeed bad - but hey, i'm always open for a surprise...

Again, prejudging games? Eh. But at least no one's outright gone and said "OMG THSI WIL SUX!!111", so that's all right. I personally am quite picky with my fighters. 9/10 fighting games are awful, trite pieces of shit. While I'm not particularly the kind who counts frames either, I like some meat and balance to my fighters. Personally, this doesn't look inspiring AS a technical fighting game, but it might be fun as a brawler.

Speaking purely for myself, everything I've read, heard, and seen about the game leads me to think it's a projectile-based fighter like Power Stone.  Power Stone was good for what it was, but it wasn't my kind of fighter.  I prefer more in-your-face, non-projectile fighters like Tekken.  You can count me in as another one who's picky about fighting games. 

Dissidia could be an excellent Power Stone-esque projectile fighter.  However, it's not my kind of fighter.  It's like with RPGs.  X game could be an excellent sandbox RPG, but sandbox is not my cup of tea.
