This is really cool news. I never played the Genesis much back in the day, but retro gaming rocks. I have to ask the question, though - how many of these games will be in english? As far as I know, Nintendo hasn't said a word about if these games will be available worldwide, or just in Japan. I could see there being some potential license problems with non-first party software, as it's not always the same company to publishes a game in all regions. But maybe that's a moot point when it comes to games as old as these.

Awesome, Phantasy Star IV will be the first Genesis game I play on the Revolution then, followed by the Shining Force games.

Yeah, this just made Sony's PS3/PSP announcement seem a lot smaller to me. I get old-school Nintendo, Sega, and TurboGrafx titles on the Rev?
Consider it bought. :P

It's not 1000 games, but a "best of" selection of Genesis games.

I think the "best of" is for the TG16 games. The article says "According to Nintendo, over 1,000 games for Sega's Genesis console, released in 1989, will be added to the Revolution's library."

That is the best news ever.
Although I have no idea what a Turbo Grafx? Is it what we Europeans call a Master System? I really fucking hope so.

Turbo Grafx was known as the PC Engine in Japan, if that helps. if it doesn't, use Google.
And drumlord is right, a later news story on GameSpot says there's thousands availble, but only the best will be put on. That first article was just misleading.

Jimbo will be playing Sonic the Hedgehog 2 for Genesis all over again! There is a God and he loves gamers!
As if being able to play older Nintendo games wasn't enough of a selling point for me. This just made it a winner, I'll be getting one on launch day...whenever that is.
