I've been thinking about the Wild Arms series lately.

You see, Wild Arms 4 has really turned me view of the series around, so I'm thinking of taking a look back at the rest of the games.

I quit on Wild Arms 3 after I didn't feel like searching for the interest to the Nidhogg's forest anymore; should I pick that back up?

Then there's the original Wild Arms and Wild Arms 2 on the PSX, and then Wild Arms Alter Code F on the PS2.

Which of these games, if any or all, should I look back into?

Alter Code F and 2. If you have the time, the original is still decent. When it comes out, check out 5, it's great.

Get the original and don't get the remake.

I suggest blowing that comment off due to his remake bias, but I did hear they fucked up the one unique (for a JRPG) twist WA1 had. Unless you absolutely can't stand mutant fetuses in battle (... possible given your replies in the FFIVr thread), I'd say go with the original anyway. If nothing else, you can see just how the series started that way. Myself, I only played the original, and passed on getting the remake for $15 due to the backlog I have. Maybe I should've got it anyway, it rose back to $30 before vanishing entirely from Fry's.

As for 3... Well, /I/ liked it. But not many others did. If you got bored with it and didn't like it, I suggest just forgetting about that installment.

Don't listen to this guy. Get both. The remake is much better in terms of gameplay and presentation, but the original is still fun to play.

Good advice.

I have no "bias".

O RLY

2. a particular tendency or inclination, esp. one that prevents unprejudiced consideration of a question; prejudice.

10. to cause partiality or favoritism in (a person); influence, esp. unfairly: a tearful plea designed to bias the jury.

You're guilty of both right now.

If the original is still fun to play, he doesn't need the remake. Why play the same game twice?

He can just get the remake instead of the original, it's not like you have to either own the original or both.

... This remake business should probably be dropped before it destroys this topic actually.

I listed the original only if he had the time. The remake is far superior and he should play that first.

Of course, you wouldn't know that, having never played it.

Because I played it when Wild Arms 1 came out.

Then we agree; you have no place in saying which one should be played because you've only played one of them.

I'm glad you see things my way.

Seeing as they're the same game and you said the first one was fun to play, he should get the first one. It came first - it matters the most.

Alright, let's just drop this remake thing. There isn't even an intelligent argument, and it completely ignores that this remake has fundamental changes in gameplay/story so that it can be either better or worse. We can save the remake argument for a more fitting thread, but this one should probably live long enough for the guy to get his suggestions.

That's the most retarded logic I've ever seen.

Seriously, if you're going to argue you should at least use something instead of nonsensical remarks.

Besides that, the remake is better and MORE fun to play. Therefore he should play the remake over the original, "importance" be damned.
