A VM's usefulness is that you can run it at the same time as the host system, with the ability to transfer files and clipboard data between the two. Apparently not so with Apple's setup. The only thing that impresses me is they must've found a way to keep Windows setup from clobbering the boot record.
If only they'd make a portable GUI toolkit. I can run most Gnome and KDE applications on every major operating system, and there's no major technical barrier to M$ and Apple giving me the same courtesy.
