No more batarang controller......sad sad days.

http://www.engadget.com/2006/03/22/sony-confirms-ps3-controller-redesign/

Oh and for those who are usually too lazy to read the article, the picture in that link IS NOT what they're going with.

I personally would have been fine with the batarang controller. It reminded me of those great third party PlayStation controllers (from ALPS?). I wouldn't mind a new controller that departs from the existing DualShock design, but in case they decide to stick with the old design, so be it. No problem.

Thank God, those boomerang shaped controllers were queer like gay.

I agree with Gast. I liked the Alps controllers, so I think /most/ of the people that went apeshit on this just A. didn't like Sony at all or B. found the shape of the controller to be espicially easy to mock. I'm personally hoping it's something different from the established Dual Shock though, or I'll be annoyed. Yay, same damn controller for 3 generations. :p

I'd also like to interject that Takezo's idea is awesome.

I didn't hate the boomerang-style one, I would have liked to give it a go, although it did look like it would have been a bit dodgy to use.

Honestly, I'd be happy if they just stuck to something similar to the Dual Shock.

The boomerang was okay and wasn't too big when I saw someone actually holding it.

I'm kinda glad that they will redesign the PS3 controller. I don't think the original would have been that bad, but I am positive they can come up with much better.

I really want a controller I can use with just one hand.  That would be the bomb for RPGs.

I actually was kind of curious how the boomerang controller would feel, so I hope they release it just for the hell of it. You know, like Madcatz and Spongebob controllers.

It's cool to hear this news though, since I knew Sony was going to change it.

I notice it's from England, though.  Will that work with my American PS2?

For my next request, I want a wireless one-handed controller, that can be used to travel back in time by pressing x, x, o, L2 while tapping triangle once for every year backwards in time.
