Who plans to get this? I wanted a TRPG but I think Shining Force filled that hole, so I'm left on the fence. It is $30 though, which is nice, and it got 8/7/8 from EGM, so if other reviews are positive it'll be a good purchase. I'll probably see what I think after getting through Shining Force.
Edit: And there's Persona 3, Bioshock, and Metroid Prime 3 to factor in... Man, maybe I'll just pass on this.

It's interesting enough - nothing particularly new in regards to gameplay, but entertaining.

I want it, but I'm waiting for the new 'slim' PSP to hit shelves before forking out for it. Increased RAM to reduce load times, TV-out function... delicious.

Thought I'd give this a bump since I just started playing this a week ago. I was a little wary when I first picked it up, Makai Kingdom is pretty much the only Tactical RPG I've played (and I thought it was terrible), so I had no idea what to expect.
But I have to say; I’m really enjoying it. Battles are keeping me on my toes, and there’s been a few times where I’ve seen the game over screen because of poor planning. The story seems pretty interesting too, even with all the inevitable cliché plot points I can see coming.
Overall, I’m really enjoying it. If you’ve got a PSP and are looking for a good RPG, I’d definitely give it a shot.

Don't hijack threads, macirex.
I didn't like Jeanne d'Arc. Too simple for my tastes. Customization was pretty low.

Well Eusis was asking about who was getting the game... and so I answered... and since you played the game tell me how are the battles? is there a lot of in-depth customization?

Just for clarification:
Is it a regular RPG or an SRPG?

It looks interesting to me, but I just finished D&D Tactics (review coming as soon as we can get it posted), and started on a game to be named later that will occupy every second of my gaming time until I can post the review.
Like Shiguma, I'm saving up for the new PSP, so games I can buy for myself could be few and far between until after that.
If folks here say Jeanne's really cool, I may pick it up after that point (hopefully cheap).

Hm, sounds ominous. I'm getting curious.
Anyhoo, I've been considering getting a PSP for a while now as it seems like it may, just may, be starting to get interesting and I remember that I kept my eyes Jeanne when it was first announced. If I finally decide to invest in one, I'll make sure to look into it further.

Honestly, in the past year or so, the PSP has gotten a pretty awesome list of titles. I'd definitely recommend getting one.

Jeanne d'Arc is way too easy. Every battle can be won easily by blitzing the enemy like crazy, even escort missions. The customization is too shallow - each character has special abilities related to their specific weapon, but the amount of customizability is rather low due to only having a maximum of 6 slots.

Well, in any case I'll hold off on it until the new version is released. Still, the main selling point for me getting one is mostly games that already exist on other platforms but for various reasons are hard to acquire i.e. Valkyrie Profile. I've always felt like the PSP lacked good original games which is why I never considered getting one until now.

I've been waffling on purchasing this title. I likely will, but I'm kind of tapped for a while after caving in and placing a preorder for the Crisis Core PSP Lite Bundle.
... I'm hopeless.

It has, it just hasn't been advertised well.
