I noticed Journey To The West at the store this week and decided to give it a shot, because it's the latest movie by Stephen Chow, who made Kung Fu Hustle, which I love. This one is an adaptation of a classic Chinese book (first published in 1592, so pretty freaking classic), and it's about a young monk who is trying to help people by vanquishing demons. However, he doesn't want to beat the demons into submission, the way other demon hunters do, but rather remind them of the good in them from back when they were people. Dangerous methods, but luckily, there is a female demon hunter who saves him (whether he likes it or not) by kicking demon butt when things don't work his way.
I didn't love it as much as Kung Fu Hustle, but it's still quite good.
