I saw "Toy Story 3" and "Scott Pilgrim vs the World" today.

Absolutely adored the former. My sister cried from the last 15 minutes onwards, wouldn't stop until half-an-hour after it. Thought that Scott Pilgrim was completely over the top and epic, enjoyed it tremendously.

Watched "Harry Brown". A decent movie but not entirely recommendable. It's always good to see Michael Cane strut his stuff as the cool headed good guy.

Got around to watching "Kick-Ass", thought it was really good and entertaining. Felt a little long though.

Ooh, double-post.

Saw "In & Out" for the umpteenth time (it never gets old, imo) and finally saw "The Blind Side", which was entertaining enough.

Blue Velvet

"BABY WANTS TO FAAAACK"

I enjoyed the movie, as far as I enjoy anything David Lynch can do. It's practically perfect, though it lacks a good narrative. I 'spose that's the problem with being "postmodern". I'm happy letting most of the film being a mystery, though one thing bugs me and it hurts that i'll probably never get an answer for it.

Why does Frank fetishize blue velvet? Is it something he witnessed as a kid (That's what i'm leaning for since he calls Dorothy "Mommy" and makes her call him "Daddy"), or is it symbolic for something? It's the only mystery I would like to know.

Over the weekend, I saw Killer Klowns from Outer Space with some friends.  The movie was stupid, fun, and stupidly fun.

That reminds me - podcast all y'all might want to check out: FilmSack.  Good stuff.  They watch movies that are generally crappy or forgotten about, although not exclusively, and talk about them.  They did an episode on Killer Klowns. :)

Even the characters sucked.  They were flat the entire movie.  I just liked Mickey Rourke because he looked badass while doing badass things, but his character was a HORRIBLE villain.  In fact, I have no idea why the chose to put Whiplash in the movie and in such a terrible way.  I was sorely disappointed with this movie.  They might as well have just taken out every single word of speech and blown shit up for the whole movie.  It would've been much better.
