I love when he takes a piss with the microphone on.

His later movies don't get a lot of love but Wrongfully Accused is pretty good. It's stupid but I laughed a ton.

Three Stooges exceeded all expectations.  The gags were great, the choreography of the physical comedy was superb, and there were plenty of nifty throwbacks.

Wait. Somebody actually had expectations for that movie? Looks like total garbage to me. Odd.

The Clearing - A very slow moving suspense movie that I actually kinda liked for some reason. Perhaps I was influenced by the great cast? Redford, Defoe, Mirren? Too awesome. But I'm not normally influenced by the presence of great actors. Why did I like this movie that no one else seemed to? It was far from perfect. Especially how it all played out. It was pretty easy to see where it was headed, although it took me longer to catch on than it should have. Maybe I just liked how different it was than so many modern movies that seem to be in a contest over who's the loudest and prettiest. It really was an incredibly simple story. A very rich man gets kidnapped and held hostage. Family is upset. FBI gets involved. Kidnapper has a story of his own. Simple.  *shrugs*

Those who liked the Naked Gun movies - definitely make the effort to watch the TV series they were based on.  It is awesome, even if it did only last 6 episodes or so.

Yesterday, Rush- Beyond the Lighted Stage was on so I watched it.  Killer documentary and it cements why Rush is such a great band and one of my favorites.  And I'll admit, Geddy's voice is growing on me.

Just remembered that I heard something this weekend that might interest you, Dincrest.  Apparently, Netflix has just loaded up a whole bunch of great music documentaries and concert recordings and such for streaming.

We Were Soldiers - This was beautifully shot and produced war movie that follows all the (apparently)required cliches of a good war movie. Lots of explosions. Lots of people dying valiant deaths. "green" recruits who have yet to experience the hell of war. Hard ass training officers. It's got it all. Unfortunately it's lacking in a very important category. Characterization. The movie tried really hard to pull my heartstrings, but never succeeded once. I just didn't care about these people. The only one we knew much of anything about was Hal Moore, and his story goes exactly as you expect it to. He did write a book about it, after all.
Now, just like most war movies, I did come away with the feeling, yet again, of how goddamn stupid we are as a race. Killing, killing, and more killing! WHY are we so obsessed with killing each other? WHY can't we just live our very short(in a cosmic sense) lives without greed and ridiculous ambition once again bringing us into  situations where NOBODY WINS. In war, nobody wins EVER.
This reminds me of the scene where Hal is praying in church with one of his recruits, asking god for his assistance in killing the opposing army. He goes on to say something about them asking the same thing of him(god), but not to listen to them because they're heathenous devil spawn(or something like that). Right there is where I pegged the problem. Not the religious aspect(oddly enough), but the attitude that WE are right, and THEY are wrong. It couldn't possibly be the other way around. *sighs*

Around The Bend - A very quiet and relatively boring movie. Basically a male bonding flik that can't seem to make up it's mind as to what kind of movie it really wanted to be. Weepy drama? Quirky comedy? Dude with Daddy issues? Throw it all in there and hope something sticks! Too bad none of it really does. Plus, we have the typical annoying kid whom doesn't act or talk like any kid I know. He was just a cypher for the plot, and nothing more. At least it was short.

Uh oh.  Some sort of notoriety about her I missed?

There was a made for tv movie on Space Channel (American SyFy I guess?).  It was called Alien Tornadoes.  ...It was about alien tornadoes.  1/10.

Huh. You don't wanna know where my head was at, but Wynonna Judd and her giant hair and mouth were in it.  Thanks Agent!  I slept under a rock for this cornerstone of information.

I am unsure if this is sarcasm...but you are welcome in any case.

In other news, watched Punisher Warzone recently, and enjoyed it. It was a bit over the top especially towards the end, but a good showing still. Ray Stevenson is a great actor, though I'm unsure if he was a good punisher. Thomas Jane was still my favorite punisher and his was my favorite punisher movie yet. This one was very action oriented, but it detracted from the persona of the punisher. Less about simply punishing those who are unjust, more about mindlessly blowing shit up.
