Wait is Barack Obama the director of shield or something? I'm not familiar with the original comics.

My god, he's going to send in Seal Team Six to perform a reverse hit. :aaaaa:
Internet foolishness aside I, too, avenged myself of The Avengers (no, not the one with Sean Connery (or even the sixties TV show that was based on)). Kinda wondering whether Black Widow was as prone to faking emotion all the time in the comics as she was during the movie or if that's a Wheadon thing. Otherwise I'm just going to echo the main points, Iron Man stole every scene he was in, was actually satisfied with the way they handled The Hulk and how well they conveyed just how much of a force of nature like he is in the comics, Loki was suitably ham and villain-y enough to carry his weight, a little too much Black Widow, and nice touch on the getting the NYPD involved during the big fight and not just being extras in a crowd of extras (and also not having the National Guard come along and stealing the fucking show Michael Bay style).

Hulk stole the movie, Iron Man just handled his scenes well as always. It's easy to be an effective actor when you're just acting like yourself in real life.
Scarlett Johanssen got wayyyyyy too much ass exposure. Not saying I didn't like it, just what will we have for the sequel?

Scar-Jo is back to being hot again. There was a period where she had blonde hair and looked too skinny. She needs some meat on her and darker hair.

She's a big time spy, has done the double agent thing on multiple occasions, so she probably does that in the comics too.

That's
BAT
SHARK REPELLENT SPRAY!
Also I find 1989 Batman to be overrated. Joker's great, but the rest of the movie's way too dated. Out of all of the 90's Batman movies Mask of the Phantasm was the best with Returns being a close second.

How come you didn't like the awesome one liner from the hulk, Lard? I thought it was the best line in the movie. More importantly, how come you don't like Ruffalo? He's so Bruce Banner, moreso than the last 2 actors by far (though Ed Norton does get kudos for being tolerable). And Hawkeye was so much more serious in this, unlike his comic character who is a bit too smart ass-y for me. I like the more serious hawkeye, but then again, I like Jeremy Renner so yeah....
There's something about Ruffalo that just rubs me the wrong way. I'm sure everyone has certain actors like that. I just don't like him, I can't put my finger on why. As for Hawkeye, they just stripped away any personality he had. He was so......bland. I thought Loki as a villain was fine, and I wish they had focused more on him causing strife between the Avengers - that's what the very first Avengers story was: Loki stirring things up, getting the Hulk mad and the Avengers taking down the Hulk. Instead we got boring aliens and a Hulk you can turn on and off with a light switch. Meh.
Thanos as a villain should be good, but I'd really like to see Kang the Conquerer.

Fair enough. Having watched it two more times now, I can see how Hawkeye is very different from his comic book variation. He's far more no-nonsense, which is a bit of a turn from Hawkeye's personality. As for the disliked actor thing....yeah I get that feeling with Will Ferell. He's not funny, he's an idiot. His humor has nothing to offer, he's like a class clown that never graduated.
I like the idea of Thanos as a villian, but only if they expand the cast more. Would love to see Vision or Ant Man, maybe even the Wasp. Ms Marvel would also be pleasant eye candy.

They're talking about adding a female to the cast for the sequel. I'm hoping that Edgar Wright's Ant Man gets made then him and Wasp join the cast for the next movie.

Did you see it in 3D? Was her ass all up in your face? I might just have to hike it back to the theater! Damn, she looked good in that getup.
I agree with you about RDjr. I'm pretty sure he's just being himself in these movies.

100% agree. Blonde = yuck. Curves = yum.

Wow! I agree with you again. How odd. I don't find Will Ferrel funny at all. I just don't get it.
As for favorite comic book movies:
I forgot Road to Perdition was a comic! I loved that movie.
The Dark Knight
Spiderman 2
The Avengers - duh
Iron Man - the sequel just felt...odd. it wasn't bad, just nowhere near as good as the first.
I need to see Scott Pilgrim again. Such a fun movie.

With the whole Thanos thing, I'd really like to see the Silver Surfer make an appearance in the sequel. Not as a member of the team or anything but he's got history with Thanos and I would love something to wash away the memory of his awful depiction in the Fantastic Four. They took one of my favorite characters and ruined him:( On topic: I watched Aliens last night before bed. I fell asleep before the end but it's still easily in my top 10 all time favorites.
