The BEST way to watch any Twilight thing is w/ Rifftrax.

Or if you're dragged to the movie theater w/ a hot Filipina

We got a lot of average Philipinos here then. :(
Our small Japanese population though... me-yow.

And the best way to watch Twilight is stoned, stupid, or not at all.

A buddy and I just saw "A Good Day to Die Hard" today.  It was an enjoyable action flick that had me laughing or grinning the whole time.  Unpretentious, lots of fun, fast-paced, good music... okay, sometimes the progression was choppy, some plotting was stupid, and some of the action scenes were far fetched, but whatever.  The theater was freakin' empty, though.  I think there were less than 10 people.  Private showing felt nice.

Truth. Do the later ones hold up? I only saw the RiffTrax for the first two movies, and they were hi - larious.

I've watched 4/5 twilight movies now, and can safely say that everyone in this movie except taylor lautner didn't deserve this shitty film on their acting credentials. Kristen Stewart especially, this film has destroyed her rep. After seeing her in The Runaways, I was saddened by how she actually CAN act, and is being told basically not to in these films. Even Pattinson is pretty good outside of this shit. Remember me was a pretty good movie, and even in water for elephants he was fairly decent as an actor. Twilight is just shit on all levels...also I don't like sharkboy, he annoys me.

Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 2 -
If you like decapitations, this is the movie for you! Seriously. This should have been the marketing tagline. It's pretty much the only part I'm taking away from it myself.
It continues the tradition of below mediocre movies set by each Twilight movie before it.
We get a Bella who, since turning into a vamp, has decided to amp up the mascara and lipstick, resulting in a much sexier, more confident, woman. I had no idea those things could have such an effect.
Bella and Edward moon over each other for the rather boring first half of the movie. Heck, not much happens at all until the confrontation between the Voltari(sp?) and the Carlisle(+friends!) clan.
They really could have combined part 1 and 2 into one movie.
The only real character that stands out is Michael Sheens. As an actor he rocks, and actually makes you wonder about Aro(?) and his past.
The whole Jacob/Renesme(sp?) thing is still creepy, no matter how they explain it away.
It kind of saddens me how much many young girls love this series, and even look up to Bella. She is such a miserable character. Her whole life is centered around Edward. What do we ever learn about Bella as an individual? About who she is and what she loves? Anything? Maybe it's in the books, but the movies put forth a very one-sided view. At least she did kick some ass in the final scenes. It's a start.

By all accounts, there are no more details about Bella in the books.  She is a blank slate without any attributes of her own, which allows readers to put themselves in her place.  She's not smart, she's not pretty, she's not witty, she's not funny.  And yet, everyone falls instantly in love with her and makes her the focus of their lives.

What's worse, Girls are idolizing Edward and his relationship with Bella when the relationship is pretty much a classic example of an abusive relationship.

I liked Twilight better back when it was called Underworld.

Why has everyone here seen Twilight?

It honestly never even occurred to me to actually sit down and watch them...

Sure, but who says you have to make fun of it?  Can't you just ignore it?

My wife read the books, and even though she didn't particularly love them, she still wanted to see the movies. Considering it's almost always me picking out the movies we watch, I have to throw her a bone every now and then.
Plus, I knew they would be fun to mock.

omg, I missed so much gold here.
So I'll just quote all the parts I like and you all get recognition and should pat yourselves on the bat because Dice, a real person somewhere, thought you were funny.

The theater was freakin' empty, though.  I think there were less than 10 people.  Private showing felt nice.

I actually didn't like this post because, if I were a fan, I'd ship Jacob and Bella -- because they made more sense in the context of the film (the "I'm warm/cold" thing, the fact they go 3 books with telling her NOT to "dawn mascera and lipstick" and turn vampire [she wouldn't have to with him], less vampire dramz, no need to worry about friends/family dying before her).

We get a Bella who, since turning into a vamp, has decided to amp up the mascara and lipstick, resulting in a much sexier, more confident, woman. I had no idea those things could have such an effect.

Agreed, and aside Michael Sheens, who is actually too good for the series but maybe needed in that case, Bella's dad was a pretty stand up guy and so were the natives.  In fact, I love a lot of the supporting cast, I'm not sure if it's only by comparison of the terrible main threesome.

Why has everyone here seen Twilight?

It honestly never even occurred to me to actually sit down and watch them...

That many more people to give them money... Can't wait for "The Host" next. =/
If we're talking tween books, I'm happier with people fawning over Hunger Games....

Sometimes watching awful is still terribly entertaining.

Love the last three and have no real response/commentary other than "indeed".
