I watched Night of the Demons 2. I'm sure you can judge the quality of it by the title. It did not disappoint. Lots of boobs in it too, for those who are interested.

I went to see The Conjuring. It wasn't terrible. I didn't find it scary at all. There were only one or two jump scares, but even those were predictable enough where it didn't startle me. The scariest part was the lady behind me that screamed at one of them.

My biggest issue with The Conjuring is that it was "based on real events" which isn't a problem in and of itself to me, it's that it was based on real events as wrtten by Ed and Lorraine Warren. In the paranormal community they are known to exaggerate and hype things. A lot. I just don't find them credible.
All right, we are going to use a fan brush here and uh why don't you take some hunter green and we are going to put a happy little bush right down over here in the corner there and that'll just be our little secret and if you tell anyone that that bush is there I will come to your house and I will cut you.

If its any consolation, you probably made the right choice. I mean, the movie looks to be a Pitch Black remake with an older Vin Diesel but they can't use the same plot twist twice (at least not without being stupid about it).

You guys seem to have forgotten that since the 70s, 80s MOST horror moves have been slasher over the top affairs. When I was a kid walking into the video store thats pretty much all there was

Clint Eastwood has been really supportive of that remake, which is awesome.

It looks so good. I can't wait to see it.

I saw Elysium and it was pretty good. Not quite as strong as District 9, but Blomkamp stretches his money really far to create a really strong believable world. I felt the beginning was stronger than the action because of too much shaky cam. The best part: Sharlto Copely as an Insane Hobo Samurai with exploding shuriken. The worst part: hearing the audience deflate as the ending got more and more schmaltzy. I didn't mind the ending, but I think it totally ruined the movie for some people.

What I don't like is shaky "found footage" cam.  It literally makes me sick.

Shaky Cam can go die in a fire.

If I want to sit through a shlock-and-splatter-fest, then dammit, I would like to be able to actually see something other than red and brown blurs all over the place (or black and green in the cases where they like to try to abuse the element of pitch black for some cheap shock). Seriously Horror Movie makers, IT'S NOT SHOCKING IF I CAN'T ACTUALLY SEE WHAT'S SO SHOCKING!!!

Some people would argue against that but yeah, I kinda agree.

Even though I don't find those type of movies attractive personally.

For a 20 second scene there's like 20 things wrong with everything in it.
I can't believe this film and that man is real.

Shaky cam was good for the first Blair Witch and Cloverfield. Thats it.

Chronicle was pretty awesome.

I thought the use of the personal cam was really...contrived.  Thank god that thing goes everywhere with them, even for the brutal, personal BS like when they're bitching at each other while in the air.  I find the film...kinda average --- but it pulls so many plot twists and has a damn fine pace that I could not look away.  I watched it with subtitles; you get a lot more from the background chatter.  Very different, but pretty cool.

I watched Groundhog Day with a buddy who hadn't seen it.
The movie is so damn well edited and perfectly scripted between 'short' and 'long' days; I also love when Phil "messes up" and they just start the scene again.  Also, Murray was a perfect prick, neurotic, and nice guy all in one.  A cool idea for a film, the ending is lackluster -- but what else needs to be said?
