Sunshine - pretty damn awesome sci-fi flick. Too bad it's only playing in like 4 theaters in the whole fricking country.

The Simpsons Movie - after all the hype and great reviews, I thought I was going to be treated to something special. All I got was a drawn out Simpsons episode that felt like it went on forever even though it was like 70 minutes long. And not a great Simpsons episode at that (the Hank Scorpio episode is way superior to this shit). The funniest part of this was the Spiderpig bit in a trailer I saw a couple months back.

The first half of Sunshine was great. Second half was rubbish.

Saw Fantastic Four 2 yesterday - despite a terrible beginning, the movie turned out to be pretty awesome. Surprisingly faithful to the comics and Galactus looked cool.

Bourne Ultimatum was very entertaining. Loved the ending.

Wasn't a huge fan of the first movie, skipped the second, and am very glad I checked out the third.

I saw 300 over the weekend.
Man, is this movie ever overrated. I loved the visuals, but that was about it. I felt NOTHING for any of the characters or their plight. The whole thing seemed like an excuse for a bloodbath. Very sterile. No emotional impact whatsoever.
I didn't hate the movie. Gerard Butler was quite good as King Leonidas. I couldn't name a single other character, though. Well, besides Xerxes, who was just...disturbing.

Saw The Simpsons Movie earlier today. It was good, but not that good. The plot itself was more or less irrelevant, but I found it funnier than most of the episodes of the Simpsons I've watched - I'm not really a big fan, myself.

Now I'm in the middle of watching From Hell. I think it's okay, if slightly horrible - though that sort of goes without saying. Alan Moore probably hates it, though, as he always hates the films they make of his graphic novels.

The one thing I liked about the Simpsons movie is that it didn't try too hard to be this epic larger than life spectacle.  It was, for all intents and purposes, an extended length episode.  Ralph could have had some better lines, though.

Code:
We thank you Lord for this almighty penis
is still my favorite part.

Anyway, I saw Potter 5 in the theater today.  Good film.  Obviously, it's a Cliff Notes version of the book but it was good.  Helena Bonham Carter was superb as Bellatrix.  Pity she wasn't used more.  And the girl they cast as Luna... Wow!  she nailed the part and looked good doing it too.  Umbridge was probably the most vile character in the Potter mythos and they cast her well too.  She was vile.

I loved the music in this installment.  The only think I found odd was
Code:
towards the end when everyone was flying on thestrals.  All the thestrals were visible.  Shouldn't Ron's, Hermione's, Ginny's, and Neville's thestrals been invisible since they couldn't see them?  Only people who've seen death can see thestrals.

Saw Stardust today with 6 other people.

3 of us liked it, four hated it. I was in the liked it crowd.

My friend beside me was watching DeNiro the whole time, saying "That's just not right".

Finally watched our copies of Memoirs of a Geisha and A Clockwork Orange.  The former was really good, the latter was...  Disturbing.  Good though, I liked the fucked up ending.

What a great movie.

You watched it again?

Saw The Weather Man on telly last night. It was good, very entertaining. Michael Caine's character was awesome and I actually didn't mind Nicholas Cage (considering that I only like a handful of his movies).

Rush Hour 3.

Fun as hell. I love this series. This one's my second favorite, following the original.

Bourne Ultimatum was fucking awesome. I know that there are more books and that sequels will inevitably be created, so here's to hoping that they keep the quality on the same level for those.
