Quote from: "Dincrest"
The only think I found odd was
Code:
towards the end when everyone was flying on thestrals.  All the thestrals were visible.  Shouldn't Ron's, Hermione's, Ginny's, and Neville's thestrals been invisible since they couldn't see them?  Only people who've seen death can see thestrals.

Well, you could argue that, but I'd say that
Code:
the books and movies are all sort of from Harry's point of view, so since he's seen death, he can see them, and therefore we can see them.  Regardless, the question isn't whether WE can see the thestrals, but rather if the [i]characters[/i] can see them.  Apparently through the magic of film, we can see them whether we've seen death or not.

I saw Hot Fuzz the other day, and it was great stuff.  Anyone who liked Shaun of the Dead would probably love it.  I'm dumb, so I didn't pick up on what was happening until they gave it away.  At first, I thought that
Code:
it definitely wasn't the supermarket guy because he was too obvious.
 Then I thought
Code:
it was everyone who works at the supermarket but no one else.

Superbad is the funniest movie I've ever seen. That is all.

Saw the Simpsons movie today.

Not as funny as Hot Fuzz - yet certainly wasn't terrible.

Halloween - the remake.

And it's bad.

Uwe Boll bad.

Just reinforces my theory that remakes suck.

Nudist Colony of The Dead.

It's as good as it sounds.

Saw Knotting Hill last night. It was alright. Not fantastic, but I enjoyed bits of it. Hugh Grant was adorable (unsurprisingly).

Has Sunshine just been released in cinemas over there, then?

I bought it yesterday on DVD, and have to agree that it's pretty good for the first half, and then really slopes off. The whole Pinbacker thing was unnecessary and, frankly, rubbish. It was a bit too Event Horizon.

Perfume: Story of a Murderer.

I really liked it. Some beautiful imagery, and a very original story.

Blades of Glory - I did NOT pick this out. Nan wanted to see it. Turned out it WAS as awful as I expected it to be.

Devils Rejects - Another bad movie. What is Rob Zombies deal with trying to get us to sympathize/cheer on the bad guys? I hear the new Halloween is just awful.

On the positive side, I have Lives of Others waiting at home to be watched, and Devils Backbone on its way.

Saw a couple of movies.

Trailer Park Boys Movie: Fucking hilarious.  All of the Rush references made me happy.

Garfield: Terrible.  Which sucks, cause I love Garfield.

Spider-Man: Pretty good actually.  ...And it looks like TBS is playing it again literally after they just played it.  .....Jesus, the opening credits just started and the ending ones ARE STILL GOING.

Tomb Raider: Surprisingly good.  Well, not good as in Jesus Christ Superstar good, but good as in wow its a video game movie good.

[EDIT]

Oh yeah!  Saw Star Trek VI!  Probably the best of the non TNG movies.
