Underworld: Rise of the Lycans

It's my first foray into the series and I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it. I plan on going and renting the other 2 now.

Over Memorial Day, I was flipping back & forth between the Star Wars trilogy and The Great Escape.  Both classic movies I've seen multiple times.  The Great Escape has to be one of the best prison break movies ever created.

I watched FanBoys again tonight on Blu-Ray. It really is a fun movie to watch over again. No special features at all though which is kind of weird. Great cameos too btw.

DP.  I've decided to start watching my Red Dwarf DvD's again. It's been a few years and it's still the best series EVER!  If you have never seen the show, go watch it now.

Esper, have you seen the new Red Dwarf episodes that came out recently (like last month)?  I have 2 of them... really need to finish up and get the other.

I just watched The Seventh Seal today, and I'm not going to say what I feel about this movie since it's just gonna be more fan wanking. But I will say this...

If you see anybody playing chess with death. RUN!!!

Donnie Darko- First time watching it. I really liked it, even if it confused the heck out of me. Need to hunt down the director's cut now to see what they added.

Underworld- I watched Rise of the Lycans last week and enjoyed it, so I figured I'd give this a go. I liked it as well. I've heard Evolution is the worst one though, so I'm going to tone down my expectations for that one.

Watched Mystery Men again, first time in a long time.  Still love it.

Also watching stuff like Fraggle Rock and Quantum Leap on DVD, and just today, I started watching the Doctor Who spinoff "The Sarah Jane Adventures."

I've been trying to watch more movies lately, so here's my contributions:

Mulholland Dr. - What a wonderful puzzle of a movie.

Little Miss Sunshine - It's National Lampoon's Family Vacation except indier and darker.

Heathers - Silly teen angst movie, but nice dark humor fun. Best line ever: "Well fuck me gently with a chainsaw."

Terminator Salvation. Not quite as good as the trilogy I thought, but still pretty good.

EDIT: Just finished watching Resident Evil: Degeneration. It was pretty good, with some RE2 references here and there, and a tiny bit of 4. Empty ending, but still a great film.

Heathers was one of the best teen black comedies of the 1980s.  I loved that movie.  Winona Ryder has never looked better.  And, yes, it had some of the best one-liners.

I splurged on the Watership Down DVD.  Still as awesome a movie as I remember.  Easily one of the best animated films of all time.  Some parts of it disturbed me as a kid and it never lost its impact.  I think the box art of Blackavar in a snare says it all.

EDIT:  I caught WALL-E on TV.  I'm sorry to say that though the movie was stunning to look at, I found it rather boring.  I love everything Pixar does, but I actually didn't enjoy WALL-E.

Gran Torino.  That was the best movie I've seen in quite a while.
